Question For Those With Experience Using AM's

What payment system do you use? Was it easy to set up on your website?
I'm wondering because I have people who are going to be affiliates for me and I'm trying to work out a deal that for every client they steer my way I give them x amount of money.
So the affiliate gets the sale--and once the client(with the affiliates guiding) puts the money into the company Pay Pal account--I would give x amount of the sale to the affiliate.
Now, what is the most efficient method for identifying which affiliate got the sale?
I'm expecting pretty high volume sales here(using multi-level marketing), so any tips would be great.
