Amazon Mechanical Turk

For awhile we were paying for MTurk HITs (400-500 at a time), for people to navigate through a website of ours and perform a task. At the beginning, this was increasing our page rank for that website, and we were making more money from the ads on the website than we were paying on MTurk HITs. However, after a few months the website started tanking on page rank, so we stopped using MTurk for traffic.

Is there any way to come back from this? And, does anyone have any experience with using Amazon Mechanical Turk to increase web traffic?

MTurk may be a good way to get traffic, but do you know if Google penalized you for it? What else have you been doing SEO wise to maintain ranking?

    • Not sure if Google penalized us or not. We had a steady rise in page rank, then it fell way off. We have done Facebook ads as well.
