Non-digital products for a niche market?-Help please!

Hi all, I'm brand new to the forum. My husband is already a member, but I decided to join as I have just started my own niche site. I have chosen a niche with little to no competition, and now I know why. I can barely find any products to monetize it. Can anyone tell me how to find actual tangible products? I don't want to sell just Ebooks.

I am really having trouble. My niche is a bit broad, and I don't know how much content to really put on the site. The website is meant to be helpful and innovative, but the main goal is to sell sell sell.

Any Help and advice would be much appreciated. All I know is bits and pieces I have picked up by helping my husband build our last niche site.

    Hi Anna,

Get involved in your niche. I mean get really involved in it. If you are passionate about it then get in there.

It's possible there is no competition because the niche may be rubbish. Don't be offended by that, I know nothing about your niche so I'm just giving an example, there may be a good reason 'why' theres no competition.

But firstly find out if your niche have money to spend.
Do they currently buy info products or what do they buy?
Do they buy online or from direct mail?
    what products are selling?
    Can you affiliate those products?

Get in the forums of those niches and see what questions people are asking. In return offer valuable advice.

    Good luck!

It's not a rubbish niche, It gets a good number of searches. It is not a desperate niche. I have bought products in this niche all my life. I know tons about it, and that is a problem, because I don't know how to whittle down the content on my site. I want to write an ebook eventually and I don't want it all on there for free right now. I know what I want to put on there, because I am my target audience. I know what products I want I just can't find them in any affiliate site.

David hit the nail on the head (very squarely too!)

You said "I have chosen a niche with little to no competition, and now I know why"

Why is it? Is it because the niche is not one where people are proven to be spending mo to solve problems or gain pleasure (meet a dire need)?

"I can barely find any products to monetize it."

    Another clue,,,

"Can anyone tell me how to find actual tangible products?"

This is actually going to be hard for ANYOE to help you because they have no clue WHAT you're offering or talking about. Any advice you get based on not knowing WHAT you're aiming for is going to be very generic and will be a waste of your time.

If someone said "Go to CJ" how would they know CJ offers useful solutions?

You probably need to reverse engineer things and make sure the market is a niche and not a highly neglected market.

If you want to bounce ideas at any time drop me a PM and I'll see if I can help further, but please make se you look into the facts and figures of the market to save yourself time, money and frustration.

Not a crap niche I assure you. People have been capitalizing on this demographic for centuries. I have bought LOADS of books and I buy products every day on the subject , but none are on clickbank and I don't want to sell just ebooks. I have done the figures on market samurai and it gets plenty of searches, I just need tangible products..for example shelving,

How are you getting your supplies? Are there competing sites?

If you are a buyer in the niche, and buying online then you can check out the sites where you have bought from and peek into the source code or hover over others affiliate links to track where product/affiliate program is coming from.

Also, places like commission junction and linkshare deal with physical products. You will need a site in place and will need to apply to each company you want to sell product for.

Check out the Ebay Partner Network. Pretty much if it can be sold, you'll find it there, and you can promote it via the Ebay affiliate program.

I've personally done very well out of that particular program and would say it's perfect for a very specific niche. Especially given you're looking to promote tangible products, that's definitely a good place to start.

There's also Amazon, who have a great program too given that they have such a huge range, but Ebay tends to pay a lot better in my experience.

        • I can almost bet there are affiliate programs out there selling some of the products you need for your niche.

A couple things to try. CJ is easy to join and easy to search through for specific products.

Google: key word "affiliate program". If the products are VERY niche then you need to search for the broader product category.

Join the affiliate program of a major company like Walmart or Buy.com if you can find the products there.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Do I need to wait until my website is 100% or can I go ahead and apply now?

If you buy in the niche constantly then there are plenty of things to sell Think about what you buy and where you buy those products from. Start looking at the websites for those stores and see if they have an affiliate program.

Amazon is almost always a winner because it's huge, well known and trusted. So even though the commission percentages aren't great they can add up easily.

The two other primary places to find tangible products are Commission Junction (CJ) and Share a Sale (SAS) Both have thousands of merchants with millions of products.
