Niche Experts, Need Your Input Here!!

Hi there..

I've 2 questions and I hope expert niche researchers here could help me.
My question are...

"What's the monthly search count a keyword should has in order to make money from articles and web 2.0 properties (affiliate marketing)". I'm asking this because I don't want to write hundreds of articles and waste my time but dominate Google with only 10 articles

And

Recently I found a long tail keyword with exactly 27,000 monthly search counts according to google keyword tool with allintitle of 11,000 competition.
I check out the competition and there are some article directories such as EZA and BUZZLE. So do you guys think that I've found a goldmine?

I'm asking because I want to multiply my income by targeting new niches!!

Thanks in advance

One thing I love about the warrior forum is the different views people have on the various aspects of online marketing which of course is based on personal experience I hope and not hearsay.

One common ratio that is purported to offer some success is 3000 / 30000. 3000 hits a month or approximately 100 hits a day with a competition of 30,000 or less.

Others will tell you they are so good at targeting traffic and getting sales that they don't care if the competition is in the millions (they could be right).

I have a colleague who is becoming more successful by the month and he will not go near a market with competition more than 3000.

The point is there is no one answer - it all depends.

Also ask yourself - when a surfer types in their keyword or key phrase, do they put it in quotes, do they put in square brackets, do they use allintitle, or do they just type in what they want to find?

Then ask yourself what impact that will have on the results and your website placement.
