Default Straight from sales page to checkout? Or something in-between?

Hey I was wondering if anyone had some insight / better conversions from putting a page in between the sales page and Clickbank's checkout page.

SALES PAGE >> THANK YOU / CONFIRMATION >> CLICKBANK ORDER FORM

I'm not interested in doing an up-sell at the moment so if I were to put a page between, what would you recommend?

Also, along the same lines: with Google Website Optimizer, the conversion page must have the same url as the test pages...so does anyone have a solution if there's no page between?

Make it easy for you customers to order.

If you "need" a page between then use it but generally most sales pages lead straight to the order page.

You should also have an upsell, although you don't want it right now think of creating an upsell. Possibly a higher prices affiliate product or something.

Best regards

Thanks. When/where do you offer the upsell?

Some people suggested putting a screenshot at the end of your sales page saying what the next page will appear like... so that they aren't shocked when they see a totally different page...

Some people are... really thick buyers... and basically see the new clickbank page. and suddenly think "wow... this looks weird... I'm getting out of here..."

By the way, your content and other things can all determine when a person will buy!

If your page loads too slow, you will lose many customers...

If it looks weird, or not appealing to them, within the first 5 or less seconds, they will leave...

If it looks spammy etc... you get the picture.

Another trick people use is to use a video on your actual page of a testimonial, or something like that... you could hire an actor to do that.

and one last trick, that even Eben Pagan uses, is to put some actual tips/facts/information on your website itself.

Let the reader see some of what they are getting.... and this can easily persuade them to want the rest of it.

This trick works well... because alot of people do in fact read your page, and read everything thoroughly before making a decision to leave or buy.

When you do decide you want to upsell, then having an intermediate page is one way (most effective with my own testing) of doing it. Instead of going right to the order page you give them either a one-time offer or a limited time offer for a deal on an upsell, otherwise they can continue with the order.

If this is brand new - I would try just the plain order for a few weeks first to get that down and get some idea of your conversions, then try the intermediate page and examine the impact.
