Suitable personal profile fields for local community site
I'm gearing up for the full launch of my site which is a community / directory site for my local area which has a population of about 100,000. One of the features is a dedicated social network. I'd like ideas for fields to include in it.
At present I have fields for: short biography, interests, links to the area (eg. live there, work there, used to live there etc.), personal galleries, facebook and twitter etc. details and mini blogs. Automatically updated from activity in other sections of the site are business directory and classified ads entries, user points total and medals, scores from games, latest pm activity, forum posts and activity stream.
I'm considering adding a couple of extra fields for education and work. Anyone have any ideas as to whether or not more fields would be a good idea or not, and if so what fields would be useful to have? All input will be gratefully received and considered.
