I need help developing my digital marketing brief.

Im working on a digital marketing brief to get a little more organised.

I have listed the basic things that will allow me to get a better understanding of the project however I wonder if these is anything a little left field I should be adding in

At the moment my list is pretty basic, the what, the why, the how, the when.

Things I have included so far that I want the client to include are:
  • Project details
  • Copy requirements including keywords
  • Target market
  • Usage
  • Platform
  • Delivery method
  • Examples
  • Layout
  • Geographical market

Doing some research I have noticed some people also include goals, budgets, dos and dont's, timelines .. etc etc.

Steve Dwyer, Business Development Director at Tank Design even goes as far as suggesting to add in these questions:
  • What markets does your business currently pursue and/or desire to pursue?
  • Who are your target customers and what are their goals, motivations and needs?
  • What product/service are you selling and what unique value proposition do you offer to each target customer group?
  • What is your unique value or primary differentiation and how will you connect to what matters most to your target customers?
  • What is pricing model and does that create benefits/negatives for your business?
  • Who are your competitors and what are they doing right and/or wrong that creates opportunities and threats for your business?
  • Where do your target customers buy and where will you promote your products?
  • What is working/not working today and what is your current marketing strategy?
  • Is there anything preventing your company from pursuing/executing your strategy?

Knowing my clients are usually pretty lazy at filling these in, I wonder what are your mandatory elements of your digital marketing brief?

Also, if anyone wants to share what they have created it would be super helpful.

Thanks for your help.
