I Vs. We in Landing Page Copy

I run a site that teaches Android programming and I run it by myself. I've got a couple courses so when writing copy for my landing page, which is best to use?

"We can teach you Android programming the right way."
"I can teach you Android programming the right way."

I feel like "We" sounds better but is that misleading to my potential customers?

Thanks!

    Hi:

We does sound a little better, but I sounds ok also.
It will all boil down to how much value you provide your prospects/customers. If you provide them high value then they won't care about I or we.
As long as your product fills their need, you have good customer service, and everyone is happy in the relationship then I or we will work.

Try to limit the use of I or We in sales copy. The focus should be on the prospect, not the seller(s).

"You can be an Android programming expert!" sounds better than either of your examples.

Focus on the 'what's in it for them' factor and put the emphasis on the reader/viewer of your page.

Rather than we/i it should all be about You etc.

So in this example you will need to turn the content around a little.

Find their pain point and understand their customer persona and you will get a little more info on what they need.

Promoting courses are usually pretty straight forward - so it could be "I need help learning how to do Android programming"

If you have to choose between "I" or "We", then always go for "We", because "We" is always more professional, more authoritative and gives confidence to your prospects.

"I" sounds more casual, someone who does it for extra cash or as a hobby, etc.

There can be arguments on either side. The best way to learn which works best is to split test it.

But it seems you want to rely on the "guessing" sense. So, the best approach would be to scrape both I and we out of the copy.

Instead rely more on the "you" and "your".

The purpose of I and we is to prove authority. You can do that in the middle of the copy, or even beginning by writing a short bio instead. In the short bio, introduce yourself as an authority, mention your credentials, past experience and anything you can think of.

If you do that right, even if you stick with I afterward, it won't make a feather of a difference.

    Hope that helps.
    Thanks

If you must use a personal pronoun I'd stick with "I" in your niche. In programming training its all about the style of the person training that they either can relate or not relate to the material.

I is fine...we implies you have more teachers than yourself which you don't.

Check out the landing pages of other e-course/training providers. Some of them don't even have an I or we, but the discussion is more about the benefits of the training program and the curriculum. Since the landing page is part of a blog, the "I" is used on the 'About me' page or About the Trainor section.

Thanks a lot guys, I always get great advice on this site. I realize of course the best option is you/your but inevitably you will have to use a personal pronoun eventually. I also hear a lot that none of this stuff has definite answers so split testing is usually the best bet however I am in the very early stages of my business so I want to use the most effective methods I can right now.

Looks like the vote is for we.

    Thanks again!
