Feeling Overwhelmed, Need a Little Advice

Hey Guys

I'm a fairly new marketer, I have a website that makes me the odd small sale but that's all.

I'm feeling hugely overwhelmed with what I can do, nearly every video guide I check out is someone trying to sell me something, which is fine I don't mind but I'm just a bit lost.

My ultimate goal is 100 a day online but for now I would be really happy with a consistent 5 - 10 per day.

I know there's no get rich quick magic button but can anyone give me a few models that are tried and trusted that I can work away on? I am particularly interested in Facebook marketing and Facebook ads.

I don't have a huge budget but I'm obviously willing to spend some money to get going. If I can find a no bullsh*t model to just get my head down with I would be delighted.

Thanks

I was serious. Without the right traffic everything else is a waste of time.

Let me guess, you want a $7 magic bullet that does everything for you?

I suggest feeling out the interests you're targeting on Facebook. One good way to determine relevancy is by setting up a tracking pixel.

The more conversions you see (whether that's buying a product or visiting a certain page) the closer you're getting to your target audience.

Thankyou. I need to do more research on tracking pixels. I previously assumed they only worked for Shopify stores where the customer actually buys on the site but perhaps they can work with outbound affiliate links.

If you're just looking to make a little xtra money everyday, you could achieve that by blogging on a new platform called Steemit. It pays content creators based on how many upvotes their content receives on the platform. I personally have made $500+ to date.

    • Never heard of Steemit, going to check it out, thanks Steve L. Personally I've found I'm decent at creating content, just suck at getting traffic.

no bullshit model / IM product?

I don't think you can find one. like WSO, 90% of products is BS and that how the IM works, when you just started, you buy tons of those Bullshit products, then you don't make a dime after following exactly what they told you to do, then Aha moment, you found out the only way to make money is create your own BS IM product and start selling to other newbies and that is all about IM. products.

As was I, I'm greatful for your response.

"I know there's no get rich quick magic button"

Clearly, that's not what I'm after. I just want to know some of the reliable methods used by internet marketers particularly in regards to Facebook. I'm very new to IM and just want some methods I can take action on that aren't '7$ magic bullets' like everyone and their granny is trying to sell me on Youtube.

Reliability is based on the person doing the selling.

Facebook has plenty of folks failing and at the same time has plenty of folks succeeding. Same goes for any other traffic source.

      What are you selling?

    Leverage anything that is free.

Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin etc. Post 3 or 4 times daily with relevant hash tags.

Start a blog, If you have the skills to write good copy then great. If not then, believe it or not, you can get blog posts from certain sellers on certain sites for free in the hope of gaining you trust, many new freelancers do this. Take advantage and hopefully you get some decent content. If not it's cost you nothing.

I could go on, but that's plenty to start with.

Wait, I know you can earn from Youtube views but you can also use your Adsense account on Youtube?

It's the same thing, payed for pre-roll views.

The catch is you'll need millions of views to make decent money.

Create videos on hot topics before everyone else does. If you're lucky, that video will also rank at the top of Google's search results.

You connect your YouTube account to your Adsense account and select what types of ads you want to appear.

Research. I do it in both SEO and social and its the only model that works

I see people tank at Facebook and empty their wallet in the process and I've seen people do very well. the distinction is that the successful people -

    A) Realize Facebook is a social network much like an offline party/ friendly dinner. You won't last long if you barge into offline parties trying to sell something. Offline they would throw you out on your ears - online they just ignore you

    B) attach themselves to an interest demographic on Facebook. research to understand it and offer something in line with that interest. Just in the last few months I have worked with a musician who tapped into a genre of music that fit a facebook crowd and he's on pace to do $60,000 this year. Another is an inspirational speaker with a product (religious in his case) and he's on target for the same both I mention because they are just starting out.

A lot of facebook marketers don't do this. They just have their product and try to use FB to drive traffic to that product without any thought as to whether people socializing around various topics on FB even care about that product.

using the offline analogy again. Go to a party trying to sell car insurance to people out of the blue - resistance and annoyance. Go to a party where people are art lovers , talk about various art and say - oh this is my painting - if its good you probably are going to get a sale.

Find an interest niche on Facebook and create or find the product for that group. Don't just take a product you have and try to drive it at facebook users.

Incidentally both people I mentioned capture email addresses etc and do not rely on immediate click through sales so make sure your site is setup optimally to capture emails and build an effective list.

I hear you, I was the same when I first started out online. There is so much information everywhere you turn, however my advice to you would be to focus and learn one method of marketing whether it is Facebook marketing, blogging or video marketing and become a master of it. Invest in a course about whatever strategy you decide to choose, read up on it and focus on nothing else.

Once you have become a master of that single marketing model/strategy only then should you move to another, otherwise you will be distracted by every shiny object that comes your way which will lead to overwhelm, confusion, frustration and even giving up! - Focus on one strategy.....

First things first, do you have another revenue stream or work while you build up your business?

It can be seriously stressful when you are starting out and while your expectations for income is fairly small, you will want to make sure you're earning enough to get by in the meantime.

You're right - there is no magic switch, however if you work on a few different methods and test them you should get some results.

That Steemit idea sounds like a good one and could be a good way to earn some money while you are testing things out.

Find a mentor and being on WF will also help out - asking questions and seeing what works for others will keep you motivated.

I am struggling with it myself.

The problem is as soon as you give anyone the time of day they will just talk themselves up to no end.

So it is very hard to get a genuine idea of what actually works.

I would say just keep working hard and give yourself a pat on the back for any progress, even if it is tiny.

The key is to build momentum.
