paid clicks - it just make no sense to pay for that :(

Hi guy, I recently run adwords and FB campain.

It was like one dollar per click.

How can that be effective for me , I am a crafter selling handmade products, If I make 80 dollars profit per transaction, its hard to drive possible customers that each visitor cost 1 dollar...

any advice?

Regards

Pete

Pete, (or is it Nora?), PPC isn't for everyone.

First off, are you trying to sell directly to people clicking your ads, or are you going the listbuilding/followup route? Unless your crafts are something people would buy only once in a lifetime, you might do better putting your ad dollars to work building your list and working toward multiple buys (increasing the lifetime value of each customer).

The other possibilities are improving your conversion rates, which will take time/money while you test for the best option, or finding ways to lower you click costs, which might lead to more less-targeted (wasted) clicks.

Back in the glory days of direct marketing (pre-Internet), marketers used about 20% ad cost per sale as a rule of thumb for evaluating an ad/offer. In other words, if you make $80 per sale, your ad cost might be as high as $16.00. The question would then become 'can you make at least one sale per 16 clicks?'

Put another way, rather than looking at the pure cost per click, look at the cost per sale. If it's higher than you're comfortable with, you'll need to change something.

    Paid traffic isn't for everyone.
It takes time to invest and figure out the proper ads, bids, targeting, etc.
