Who is from the pioneer batch of warriors?

I have always been wondering about this question.. Who were from the official pioneer batch of warriors from this forum? Are they still active within this site? May the pioneer batch of experienced warriors please show their true faces? It would be an honor for us new warriors to know who are our seniors within famed Warriorforum. Hope to hear from the pioneer warriors!

Regards,
Edmund

That depends on how far back you want to go.

This forum has grown from several previous incarnations - and some members were members on the same IRC chat rooms before graphical forums were created.

So - you need to be more specific.

Paul Myers can probably tell you though.

Are any of these IRC channels still going? I have been trying to find an internet marketing IRC channel but to no avail.

Wow.. So in other words, our seniors range up to the hundreds? Amazing.. So before us, there were already so many people that believed in the potential power of the internet.. Wished i realize this sooner.. But so far only a few names were mentioned.. I guess most of the pioneers rather remain low-profiled..

Allen, you mean "in-the-beginning-was-the-Word" beginning? And you rained fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah without yet having known all of your pioneer warriors? Hmmm...

I'm like that. I've done so much over the years I get emails for sites I forgot I even had and affiliate commissions for things I don't ever remember promoting and couldn't find my link if I tried

What was that speed back then?

14.4 bps or something like that.

I was up all night downloading reports and looking for more floppy disks to slip in the A drive and soak up more.

Remember deleting a typing program I just bought on floppy so I could download more ebooks

Come on, admit it. You tried to figure out from the sounds what speed you'd be connected at. It's okay.

Anyone who was online back then is at least a little bit geek at heart.

                    Figure out... ?

I always knew exactly. The 2400 connect was only one exchange, the 9600 had two, the 14400 connect had a longer and louder second exchange, the 28800 had a long tone...

God, I miss modem negotiation sounds. Maybe I can find a WAV file online somewhere.

I admit, I'm a closet poet. Or a poet-wannabe. Got a terrific book by Sandford Lyne to prove it.

It wasn't the sounds per se that sounded good. It was the prospect of connecting to the world. One minute you're sitting all alone late at night (because one's gotta work in the day, you know) in a cozy room, light streaming from the small table lamp beside the monitor, illuminating your fingers and keyboard somewhat, and the next, you're hearing the screechy sound of the modem (like an arthritic C3PO) and you know you're connecting to a whole new world out there.

THAT was pure poetry, my friend. It was wonderful. And it changed my world.

Snitz doesn't really qualify you as an old-timer, but your memory gets you "veteran" status. Seriously... What percentage of the people in the group now would remember that John was ever a moderator? (No, people. Not John Taylor.)

I started a long time ago when we had to pay I think it was $35 to join. My number was 2008 I think. I met so many big marketers in those days. I think it was about 10 years ago now.

I think there was an affiliate program.

I will always treasure the first ebooks and products I received written by Allen; "The Secrets of An Internet Marketing Warrior", "Internet Cash Machine", "The 7 Secrets", "Affiliate Master Script" and many others when I first joined the other forum at the dawn of the new century. Came damn close to ruling the world, too; if I had only followed Allen's step-by-step instructions. I would offer some valuable tips from these ebooks were it not for his dire warning to us all:

Dang, I'm a newcomer compared to all you guys! Amazing!

Those of us who were on the Internet (pre-Web) -- back when, because it was funded by DARPA -- there was NO ADVERTISING -- who saw the hours spent by the unix geeks "reading news" --

Knew dang well that if the Internet became open to marketing, it would be crazy.

I just didn't realize that it had. Took me a while to become uninhibited from my previous inhibitions.

I don't normally pass up a dare, but I've no choice.

I just played it, and my girlfriend sitting on the bed behind me looked up with stars in her eyes and said "I haven't heard that in so long!"

While you are digging up blasts from the past, does anyone have a picture of the soldier from the old unisol forum? I swear it's Scott Ames.

George Wright P.S. Allen sent it to me once but I lost it again.

Wow, I remember the unisol days, and that John was a mod. Yikes!

I also remember that when I first came in I felt like I was somehow somewhere I didn't belong though I had paid, maybe a mistake was made that I was allowed in there, and that someone was logging my IP to track me down and boot me off from my dial up to never return...

To their detriment it never happened :-)

I'm pretty sure the old forum was the first forum I'd ever been a part of so I didn't know any thing about forum etiquette or marketing.

Still know little about either according to some, hehheh.

I noticed it when you started using it Kenneth, It is because of your avatar I started searching for some of the old ebooks by Allen. I can't find the one on "Powerful Words that sell" or something like that. Any suggestions? I already had a lot of them on my HD.

Hmmm..."Powerful Words That Sell"? Can't recall that. Who wrote it? I'll rummage around in that old Warrior attic and see what I can find. I;m sure I can find an ol' pic of Bryan Kumar in diapers

          Hi Kenneth,

That is what it was about, not exactly the title. It was an ebook that Allen used to promote the old secret site. It was a list of words and phrases that were "hot" for the selling process.

          Thanks,

I may have joined before most (late 1996) but I assure you, it was long after the diaper days. (I know this because someone just called me 'old man' last week. tsk tsk)

Hm sorry I just noticed this thread.

            Must be getting old.

Well I have been here quite awhile of course and I still get a buzz from visiting the forum.

            Long may it reign.

Time for my afternoon nap after I just finish what I just noticed is actually my 60th eBook.

And gosh that made me feel even older.

        George,

Would that be "The Subconscious Mind and Keywords"?

If that's the one, let me know, and I'll leave it under the usual rock for old agents of the WF :-)

  • *sigh* I just listened to the modem recording - boy does that take me back!

Actually, sadly enough I only joined in 2005, but my first connection to the WF still made that noise! Ha ha ha

I've been lucky enough to get to know some of you old farts, and while I don't think the word "fart" is very becoming (especially when referring to the amount of genius we have here,) if anybody has earned the title, you guys have.

    </brown nosing>

I'm old enough in this forum to be afraid of changes here, they make me hide under my desk - does that at least make me a veteran? LOL

Congrats on many 10th, 11th, 12th, and even 13th anniversaries here guys - don't ever leave, the oldest among us somehow bring out the most life in conversations

Ah, but if you change the "r" to a "t", it becomes "fatt", the romanized spelling of the Cantonese word for "to prosper much", then it becomes very becoming :-)

I first joined right when the price went from $25 to $39, I'm guessing around '97 at the latest...

Wasn't the original member site on PrivateSite.com if I remember correctly? (That domain's parked now) I don't mean the Uni-Sol forum, but the actual membership site.

And the Warrior Site 2-tier affiliate program (before it was changed to 1-tier) was the first "passive" money I ever made online because somebody joined off my link and I started getting $10 commissions whenever he signed somebody else up, which was regularly.

I also offered free website critiques within the Private Site that got my original website development business going profitably.

My first contact with Allen was I emailed him about the price jump to join because I hadn't joined yet and had seen the $25 price the day before but when I came back it was $39. I emailed asking if I could somehow get the $25 price.

He emailed back something like, "I'm making a killing today! Here's a free password, come on in!"

In case I never mentioned it, "Thanks, Allen!" :-)

I remember trading emails with Allen long before the Warrior Forum came about. Even around the start of the TheWarriorGroup I think...

John... I have seen you around here but never noticed you were from Mobile. I graduated from BC Rain and most all my family are still there. Boy do I remember allot of fun days (and nights) at Dolphin Island
