My lead generation on my website via my forms is low - any tips?

I'm not getting that many leads via forms on my website.

I have seen there are a few forms that Google touts to be the highest converting forms, anyone suggest a few that work for you.

I have 5 fields
I have a privacy policy link
My call to action is good
I do have a CAPTCHA (which could be a little annoying I guess)

Maybe the location of the form is not ideal, I can test this.

Please share the form formats that work for you, I'd love to update mine and test it to see if I can improve results.

If you post your website people might be able to help you.

You should link to the webpage as RefuseToLose said. That way we can get a good look at it.

However, having a CAPTCHA cannot be helpful to your conversion rate. In fact it probably is hurtful.

I personally hate the CAPTCHA, so if you ask me to fill out I'll simply leave. I'll increase your bounce rate.

The line of thinking is the following: "Why should I have to prove myself to you? It's you who wants my email, you should be proving yourself to me"

I hope that perspective makes sense.

Also, 5 fields? That seems a bit excessive. What are they? You usually need a form for an email, maybe their first name.

Also, have you included any images? Or are you just promoting plain text. You need photos and color. We're visual creatures

    1. Why do you have 5 fields? What do you need other than their email address and maybe their name?

    2. How do you know your call to action is good if you're not getting good results?

    3. Why do you have a captcha? Another unnecessary road block to receiving your users info.

What kind of numbers are you expecting?

Sidebar or popup forms will only convert a small number (1-10% or so) of visitors. That's if you have a killer incentive.

5 fields? OMG.. You should have pretty f*#g strong incentive for those people to sign. You say you have strong CTA.. How do you know?
What's their benefit for signing up to your newsletter? What is your UPS(Unique Selling Point) ?

    Hi Aussiecoz,

Did you check where was your most of the traffic coming from? Mobile? Desktop?
If its a mobile, then look at responsiveness, form ui and the button functions. A lot of mobile sites sometimes dont work properly.

If its desktop, then look at shifting the form to the right. If its on the right already, look at shifting at the top of the page in the first scroll. If its in that position, then split test between short progressive forms and one single 5 field form.

      Cool, great tips.

It is mobile mainly, I will have a bit of a play around and see what else I can test and work with.
