    Hi Marhelper,

What specific advice are you looking for re-non profit? I started one in Oregon and it can be a bit tricky with the IRS language. I have a paralegal degree so that helped somewhat.

In Oregon they had a book that I was able to purchase "How To Start A Non Profit in Oregon." The same book was also at the library.

Are you looking for specific steps to take? Please elaborate a little, so that I may attempt to help.

P.S: Here is a site, if you plan to do the application yourself:http://www.form1023help.com/

That helps, thanks. The process can be a little intimidating as I do not want to mess it up and get it sent back months later.

In addition to any IRS filings, there may be specific language that you may need to add to the nonprofit's articles/certification and/or bylaws depending on what state it will be formed in. I'm a corporate lawyer and have helped a few of my New Jersey clients with the corporate aspect and there was specific language that needed to be in the organizational documents for the entity. I don't do tax work so i stayed away from any tax related filings.

Thanks a lot, this is helpful. I will look into specific language to be added for my state.
