how to create a great website for internet marketing

I'm really a newbie in internet marketing and the business, but I really want to learn about it a lot. I'm just curious how (example: Alibaba) can first gain the trust of the people to put their product in it's website? then, how the first way to attract consumers to visit our pages? Thank you

    Building up a brand builds up trust at customers. Consistency is important and providing value to the people that enter your site. Also, you should be atleast a little bit original for people to go to your site instead of doing other things.

    In conclusion, if you have a good website people will come over time if you keep consistently provide value.

    Alibaba had a dozen or so experienced business people behind them when they launched.

    They also raised $25m in investment so they could put the infrastructure in place and raise awareness.

    It's a completely different business model to the slow brand build you normally see.

    I think the key is to create the attraction and the confidence of customers. By maybe you will be one blogger to share experiences as well as the real story or review the product exactly.

    If you're just getting started in internet marketing, setting up a site (as your thread title suggests) for Internet Marketing, is not such a great idea. That is a broad subject with many intricate parts.

    I made the mistake early on of setting up a blog for "Internet Marketing" instead of focusing on one (1) of the intricate parts. So people who visit that blog rarely stay since it is not focused on one thing.
    I recommend finding the one thing about Internet Marketing that you find interesting, or one thing you know most about, and focus on that. Don't make the same mistake I did.

    For internet marketing in general? This is probably too broad a question to offer useful advice. There are already a lot of threads on IM in general here. In order to say what will help your site in particular it would be useful to know what kind or site/niche its in.
