Is it me or is EZA down for everyone? I can not seem to be able to view my stats and I notice my articles are not live either.

Is there any one having the same problem?

It's been down for me for around 5 hours. I was wondering whether it was only affecting a small number of users since there was no thread here, but good to see it is affecting someone else.

It's currently saying that they cannot connect to their database. Seems like a serious hardware problem or even a hack, IMO. Seems quite serious either way.

I also checked one of my articles (which was published yesterday) a few times - which I had bookmarked - and it keeps either showing up fine, or saying the article doesn't exist before re-directing me to the homepage.

All very odd. But yeah, it's definitely crashed for me. Has been down for quite a while, too.

Yup, couldn't log into my account at first. Then when I did, the stats are all wonky.

Also, if you do a google search on any keyword and you click on an ezinearticle url, you're taken to a page that says that page can't be found.

Looks like it finally happened -- ezinearticle is down!

I think this will serve as a lesson to many of us. Some one predicted this on the forum a while ago and it is already happening.

It is a little for those of us who base their business around article marketing and focus only on EZA as if it is the only directory.

I am sure I will be the captain or the President of those sterotyped people are I am talking about if need be but ... lesson learnt. The hard way though.

It's down for me as well. At first I thought it was just a couple of articles that were moved then I tried checking for any article at all and couldn't get through.

This is definitely a wake up signal for anyone whose primary method of marketing is through the use of articles.

WOW! Thats almost like Google going down, or worse still WF

Although I did not rely heavily on EZA, ir does show people what can happen at the flick of a switch! With the tripping of the wrong button, or the overload of a system, millions of people can be hurt, or made to suffer. There must be tons of people that solely rely on EZA for their marketing, and now (at least for now) it is all gone.

I guess we all await the news of what happened, why it happened, and how it will be prevented in the future!

I tried a few times today and it wasn't acting nice.

Last few hours I just get a blank page.

Looks like an update gone south.

Figures, I had some articles on the cusp of being published today.

It seems to be okay for a few minutes then not okay. I was able to submit a couple of articles but now it is giving me an error message, "unexpected error." So I am working on something else for now until they get that straightened out.

I would not worry about EZA as it will be around for some time to come. However, it is wise to diversify. BTW it is still down for me.

You know, with all the other web2.0 sites and other article directories out there, if you use them as much as you do EZA, you could be making sales by the time EZA approves whatever article you've written.

      Up or down... no matter.

I submitted 43 articles 72 hours ago. Ten got approved within the 48 hour time line, but there are still 33 in limbo with three of the five progress bars filled in. They say platinum level authors are supposed to get articles approved in 48 hours. This is the first time I recall that has not happened. The problems seem to come and go, but I still can't access my stats. There are some very, very smart people working on the problem, I'm sure. I have faith in them.

EZA finally let me log in a few minutes ago, and even brought up the Submit An Article page. When I'm ready to submit and click the submit button, I'm getting "An unexpected error has occurred ...". At least thats some progress over earlier today.

Strange, but in between the outages I submitted an article and I just got notification that it's live. 1:48 from submission to acceptance on a Friday night.

I'm Platinum, btw. My normal turn-around is 24-48 hours.

Yes, we have had servers fail (which does happen from time to time) but usually we have so much redundancy, that no one notices or if there is an issue, we're back in minutes or the outage only affects a small percentage of our traffic.

Today we cut over to some hot spares that didn't cut over very well.

Our Developers have been on it since it occurred and we're still at work (2:30am Saturday AM) until 100% of all services are fully restored.

I can tell you that our Editors were able to work about 95% capacity on Friday including both shifts (we have 1st and 2nd shifts right now)... I do not expect today's downtime to slow down our article review process. In addition, I've approved overtime for some of our best Editors this weekend to help increase our article review speed.

We will debrief everyone in the blog once we have full account of what went wrong, what we'll be doing to prevent it from ever happening again.

Today's downtime is highly unusual for us... and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the update. I am glad it is okay now. Is there any update concerning the slow review of articles?
