Are reviews more important than money?

Have we become too much dependent on reviews?

I need good reviews from our listeners for our radio. I need good reviews from our users for our mobile app. Everywhere you go and everywhere you look, there are reviews. Either you have to give a review or get one.

I'm obviously not the only one. An eBook I'm reading. The author expects a review. I also see that a freelancer we hired to write a blog for us is more concerned about our future review than the money itself.

OK, I get it. Reviews are either as important or even more important than the money. They have become some kind of a genuine currency. Now, I'm not saying this is a bad thing. I'm just noticing things around me.

On the other side, the more reviews I get, the more I will be able to charge our advertisers. This also means that additional reviews can get me more listeners. So, this is a two-way street and it's supposed to be a fair one. Right? Have some questions and doubts, though.

Are all of these reviews to be trusted? Has ever crossed your mind that it could be a reviews industry working silently in the background? I'm not questioning the whole system. I'm just asking a simple question. I heard that you could buy likes and followers. My partner mentioned such a possibility, but that's simply not my thing.

I would like to hear from you. How much attention you pay to the reviews for your business? Have you ever questioned them? Do you think there are more important than the money, or you need and use them only to the point when you can make more money thanks to your reviews?

Now a Days reviews plays crucial role in buyers decision making process. Knowingly or unknowingly reviews affect our buying decisions. According to me any business should focus on getting good reviews from potential buyers. Of course there are chances of fake reviews being used, but after all they are reviews that are trusted by most people. What people will see about you is what they likely to trust before making a decision to buy something.

You actually reminded of an article I read about the "reviews war." You know how it goes, your competitors attack you bad reviews, you strike back, lol. Just hope my radio won't have to go through this. We are still small and struggling, lol. Yet, this is the first sign of success, so we're a little bit impatient, lol.

Reviews are important now a days, because it's play an important rule to take decision. However money is also important. In comparison for a newbie reviews are important rather than money.

I would say reviews are very important, because it's easier to make a decision if people before are buying it. It's psychology in work. There are been tests that show it. One that comes into mind is when people are put into line and asked a easy math question and all the before ones answer differently than you would've you most likely change your answer to what the others said before you.

Yeah, it's a legit science. How they affect our judgment. Give you a credit for that point. Thx.

I think the money coming in itself (or income from ads you generate) is a review in itself on how well you are performing. I don't care about buying good reviews either or faking the system. It's embarrassing to be caught buying fake followers and reviews. It seems you are not comfortable about it either, so don't do it.

It was just a thought, a silly thought, but still nothing more than a thought, lol.

A new business doesn't just need revenue, it also needs validation and endorsement. For my software company, it's crucial that we get new clients and generate new revenue or else our company will go out of business. However, because we're a start-up, we need validity almost as much as we need money. Getting a VIP client and being able to say that we're working with multi-million dollar companies is as important to us as the licensing fees that enable us to continue working on the product.

Reviews are obviously important, but they aren't a substitute for revenue. That being said, imagine how much easier it would be to get clients if you had a collection of 50 or 100 positive customer testimonials and you can see that those things have a great positive effect on your business.

In the early stages, you can even sacrifice some revenue for earlier validation because that testimonial will help you grow faster than a little more money.

Great point. You need to sacrifice, or may I say, you need to invest. Yes, you give up on something with a hope that's going to be worth it. These sacrifices you make in the name of good reviews. So true.

I think reviews do matter on any online and offline business.

Unfortunately, only one of a few bad reviews can ruin the whole marketing. You could have 100s of happy clients but those that send a bad review will be infront of the new clients eyes.

Guess it's in our nature to first pay attention and read the negative reviews. You are so right, you can have hundreds, even thousands of outstanding reviews, then comes a guy and ruins it all with a poisonous review. People will still remember that one minority report. True

But, the question is, are you ready to follow a review or reviews blindly? That's my main concern.Thx.

Exactly! That's my leverage in negotiations with the advertisers. I have to have something to show. So, I show statistics associated with our listeners and reviews. Thx.

Reviews will always be good for your business...

But honest and verifiable reviews will always be GREAT for your business...

Learn the difference and how to utilize them and those great reviews can be more persuasive than the most skilled copywriter...

Reviews and testimonials are an essential influencer. You can't omit them from the picture completely.

However, there is a limit to which we should crave for reviews. Once there are few genuine testimonials at your disposal, you should stop asking for reviews and focus more on the targeted customer satisfaction.

What I mean by targeted customer satisfaction is to narrow down the people you will be stretching yourself to make happy. The rest are usually garbage and they want to "judge" you without following any of your advises. Don't run for their approvals and reviews.

    Thanks

Yes, I agree with your sentiment.

There is always a bias with reviews anyhow. Many people only actually leave reviews when they want to complain!

It seems that is easier to leave a bad than a good review. I said in one of my previous responses that people tend to remember negative reviews. It's so frustrating, but we can't do a thing about it. Thx.
