I've always thought that it's not so much what I say but what others say that makes a huge impact on potential buyers.

It all goes back to school yard stuff really, if your mates say somethings good you'll believe them, whereas an ad could tell you it time and time again and the cut through is nowhere near as quick, or successful for that matter.

How you can create a consumer-generated content strategy:
  • Set up a ratings and review process that is automated and syncs to your website
  • Gather customer photos and videos of them using your product to be used on social media platforms and on the website
  • Use social media to raise awareness and engage with the customer and their purchase
  • Reach out to people who have issues or problems and solve these quickly
  • Crowd source if this suits your product - use the power of your followers to invite them to get involved
  • Integrate personalisation if this works with your brand
  • Be seasonal and make it fun
  • Add your user generated content to your marketing - such as eMarketing and blogs
Consumer generated marketing content is inexpensive and can be driven by your followers and consumers, making it a great way to market and drive engagement.

I know it's probably used mainly for younger generation, but it's well worth a try if you're looking to expand your marketing strategy.
