Sales pages and cookies question...

Hello all,

I'm based in the UK and in regards to the cookie laws that have been around for a few years now, every website must inform users that by continuing to use the site they agree to the use of cookies.

Now I've seen many sales pages for info products which do not come up with a cookie banner or anything informing the user that cookies are being utilised on site and just wondered what peoples opinions are on whether sales page are exempt from this law.

What's the general best practise with sales pages and cookie policies?

Thanks

A section in your terms and conditions that says this? I'm sure that's what most people do even though approximately 99.99% of people will never read them.

In the EU (and sites that target the EU) you have to not only let a visitor know but give them the chance to refuse the cookie being placed.

Unfortunately placing a notice in the t and c's wouldn't suffice as if I came to a different page I wouldn't be given the option.

I imagine that a lot of people are oblivious to the regulations whilst some just won't care.

In the UK it's also illegal to add items to a persons shopping cart but you see that still happening especially with web hosting.
