Is Branding = Ultimate "Non-Substitution" Factor Booster?

Is personal branding and becoming famous/a celebrity, the ultimate "non-substitution" factor booster route to go, for lesser competition? The smartest way to go about it? Mimicking market monopoly?

Right - to succeed in IM all you need to do is become famous. Is that what you mean?

Perhaps you're right. I should have elaborated more. Though I still think someone else would be able to tell what I'm referring to here.

Nope, this thread should be deleted if the mods are paying attention for once.

it really doesn't matter what you think.

If you can't write so that others can reasonably understand what you're saying, you've wasted their time... and your own.

If your posting is a question (or three). No one can reasonably be expected to answer what they can't interpret..

Case in point... "ultimate "non-substitution" factor booster route" WTF???

Lol! Although I do agree, it was the phrase I wasn't that much satisfied with, but it is still the most accurate description for summarizing.

You didn't get it because you don't know what "non-substitution" was or the fact it can be referred to as a "factor". WTF? A factor of what? You'd be wondering. Fully understandable. Read below.

You see Mr.Sid, this is not the type of topic that can be easily fully explained in a coupla sentences.

If I elaborate and start from the beginning, it's gonna become big blocks of text. Long paragraphs typically don't get interest or responses. Many times aren't even read.

Hence, I opted for a shorter version. Not a detailed one, but clear enough to give an idea to those who're familiar with the concept and can see through.

Example: cjsparacino123. Who, although isn't an old member of this forum and doesn't have thousands of posts yet as some others do, was able to pinpoint exactly what I meant and provide a valuable input.

As for the rest who didn't get it, the phrasing of my first post was also meant to filter them away. To cause disinterest. Since I'm only looking for replies from people who know what I'm talking about. And from reading only that first post. Nothing more.

That said, little did I know that recently not understanding a question translates into a funny/cocky muscle flexing fest, where everyone and their mum wanna leave their sarcastic punchlines, in some weird attempts to appear cool. Particularly to members who're less active here, or those they deem to be "newbies". For whatever reason.

"mods should delete this thread!"... "just go for it and we'll talk later"... blablabla.

To those I say: Understand that the question is not meant for you... but for particular others who will get it on their own. Without further elaboration.

If you don't get it, simply ask politely. Or mind your own business. It's not high-school anymore. Or is it?

yeah i know what you're talking about, i imagine you read zero to one by peter theil, in it he talks about the best profitable businesses are monopolies. Google search, microsoft windows OS. shit like that.

your USP is gold in business, what you can do that no one else can do that makes you unique is your monopoly. if you're the only that has what people want, you own the marketplace. i think of Drake, Kanye, Kid Cudi, they're monopolies on their markets, they ain't going anywhere, no one can do what they do the way they do it

if you can take your uniqueness and create a celebrity around it then you should be fine. i think this is what you are talking about

Haven't read it yet, but thanks for the reference. Sounds very similar to what I was thinking about. The most profitable and relatively faster in achieving maximum wealth potential.

      Exactly.

if you're the only that has what people want, you own the marketplace.
And what's the most efficient way to achieve that? I think it's selling yourself.

Thanks a lot for your input. Yes, this is what I was talking about.

But how is that different than what I posted?

If you can "take your uniqueness and create a celebrity around it" - that says you become a celebrity - or your USP for your product becomes well known (i.e., famous).

Hmmm.. you said "to succeed in IM all you need to do is become famous". Which is an over simplification of the topic and not quite true as a statement either. Many successful people aren't famous.

What we're referring to is rather not being easily substituted by someone else or other business (if ever), in the eyes of your potential and existing customers/clients. Some businesses achieve that to a degree, in a number of other ways. However, it makes sense that branding yourself is the most effective & efficient way to go about it. Don't you think?

We've given you the benefit of the doubt and proceeded to explain why your remark missed the point. Both me and cjsparacino123. Even though your first post was nothing more than sarcastic and poking fun. You really think you'll be missed? Or that the invitation was sent to you and welcomes such behavior to begin with?

I agree. This is the ultimate goal of effective and successful branding. Once you have established yourself a credible brand, then people come to you, instead of you seeking them out. But of course, efforts should not be stopped in marketing to remain at the top.
