How many articles can you submit

How many articles can you submit per day to directories etc.. without getting into trouble? Is there a limit, or not, just curious. Like submitting to Ezinearticles,Articlebase etc.. I have a ebook I had made sometime ago, 40 plus pages and just sitting on my harddrive gathering dust. So I thought why not break it up into articles, instead of buying articles. I imagine it would easily be about 50 articles.
