!!Help - can you create an online affiliate program from an offline biz?!!

I very much need your help, please.

The goal
: to turn an offline business service into an affiliate program that offers $75-100 for each "sale".

This is a financial service available only to U.S. businesses that helps with A/R managment. There is no ongoing cost to businesses that enroll in this service and promotional materials are provided to them free of charge.

The background: I'm trying to help a senior couple that owns a small business. They are retired and were hoping to use this business for extra retirement income. Like SO many others, the economy really hit them hard and they are hitting rock bottom. The business makes nominal money, but they've both got health issues and the income is out the window before it really gets in their pockets. These are two of the finest people you could ever hope to meet, are active in the community and do a lot of volunteer work/giving. The wife disclosed their situation to me - the husband is ashamed and in a deep depression over their financial situation and is scared to ask for help. So a friend and I are trying to help them pro-bono. I'm not trying to give you a sob story - I know that this same scenario is being played out all across the country - but I wanted you to see why this is sort of urgent.

Bottom line: This business needs to grow and it needs to grow quickly! These people are sinking fast and they don't have the money to throw behind traditional advertising. It occurred to me that an affiliate program could offer a win-win-win situation. The business grows, people could earn some serious extra money as affiliates, and the service helps the financial situation of businesses & their clients. But I'm no IM genius. I've not done much of it and have had limited success with what I have done. That's why I'm asking for your advice and/or help.

The idea: is to post the affiliate offer to as many "extra income" and "money making" blogs and forums as possible and even twitter and hope that we can get some interest there and maybe even get them to pass the opportunity on. Do you think this would work, would it be a good idea? A friend can set up a simple website w/affiliate sign-up and 24/7 "squeeze page" for enrolling businesses, though the page would look more like a clean business site than the usual big-hype squeeze page. Would this be something that could be successful as an affiliate program? Could it be offered through ClickBank and/or other affiliate programs? Do you think this could be made viral through 2.0?

I would be tremendously grateful for any/all advice or ideas that you could offer. I'm trying to do this in my spare time and need to move as quickly possible for this couple's sake.

Thanks in advance to you all for your time and input.

    No problem.

All you need is to contact salsmen already visiting likely customers and get them to ad this product to their portfolio.

    Works like a dream.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

    Again, thanks.

    Hi Ricky,

Thanks for the inquiry. This service automates customer account payments to help reduce outstanding A/R balances, similar to the automated drafts done by insurance companies and mortgage companies. But to be clear, this is only available to U.S. businesses.

This is a specialty service but, once set up, it automates beautifully with no worries for the businesses that are enrolled or their customers/clients/patients.

I would like to chat with you or your clients/friends. You can PM me. If the structure is right, I may have a network of offline professionals who would be interested.

    Cheers,
    Kirk
