This Software Would Be A Godsend!

OK, so its been a couple weeks since an original piece of software came onto the scene so I thought I would share my idea. I'd do this myself but I am being careful with my cash right now.

The idea is a software that build lists of websites via website footprinting.

You may be asking "What is website footprinting?". Well this is a technique that has been around for years (mainly in hacking circles) but has seemed to have exploded in the IM world recently for the purposes of backlinking.

The concept is that you find a piece of opensource software that allows you to either host a sales page or add a dofollow link. You then use search engines to search for the footprint of this software. This lets you build large lists of potential websites that you can get an easy link from. If you have the right software you can then completely automate the process of getting backlinks.

My idea for the software is that it would be to primarily build lists for use in other software. The software would update regularly with new footprints that have been discovered. You would just add a keyword list and adjust a few parameters and then set it off to generate the list.

I am doing this right now manually with the aid of outsourcers. If anyone takes up this idea I'd appreciate a free copy

Any thoughts on this? I am sure this will pass over the majority of peoples heads but I know that I am not the only person doing this so I am sure there is a good market for it.

It might be the bottle of wine I just drunk but none of that made any sense to me. Sorry.

    **EDIT**

Are you saying I should concentrate on making my own software that people search for the footprint of?

no, I am describing software that creates lists of websites based on a footprint. Some spam software does this to a degree but not very precisely.
