I'm trying to do some backlinking for my article on goarticles by doing some blog commenting, but whenever I try to leave my article as my url, it gets picked up by Akismet and therefore, never appears. I've been using bit.ly to get around that, but it's been 4 days since I left the comments with the bit.ly redirect and they still haven't shown up. (blog backlinks usually take 3 days at most to start appearing. In my experience anyway). In fact, someone else made a comment after me, about 2 days ago on one of the blogs I commented. So I checked their backlinks and they've already been credited. Should I continue to use bit.ly? I heard that they use 301 redirects so the backlink should have been credited to my article. That's why I used it. If bit.ly was the wrong choice, how do I get around akismet so I can get back to work on backlinking and have them actually appear? EDIT: is domain forwarding to my article a good idea? Would I be credited that way? |

This is a big problem! I just discovered that my bit.ly url is getting the credit for my backlinks! So I guess using any redirect is out of the question. But I still can't use my direct goarticles url without being falsely detected as spam. |

| That is good to because I am also using bitly for my comments on blogs. I will have to shorten the title of my blog post thereby shortening the url.

You're saying a comment you make on other blogs with your article URL is blocked by askimet? For some reason askimet is thinking it's spam - perhaps someone has been spoofing your domain? |

It's not on my own domain. It's on goarticles' domain. It seems the only real course of action I can think of right now is to repost the article on squidoo, but I liked goarticles ability to rank on google searches easily...

It's difficult to say. The simplest solution I can think of is to try one of the other article directories. Honestly with a few backlinks they all can rank fairly well, though some have better internal linking than others. Try ezinearticles or articlesbase, for instance.

Squidoo has the highest amount of domain backlinks, the highest PR, and doesn't require approval, so I think I'll give that a shot. Thanks for your help.
