WordPress installation problems - New themes aren't showing up when I install

I'm having problems with installing WP themes.

Yesterday I sat down to install themes from two recent WSOs by two different people.

The first installation was great and the new theme shows up when I click "Appearances" and then "Themes" in that particular WP account.

The second installation, however, is causing me to have fits.

I tried to install it a couple of times yesterday. It showed up in the "Themes" folder when I did the FTP thingie, but it never showed up in the WP account under "Appearances" and then "Themes."

Thinking maybe I was just too tired or my brain had had enough, I gave up and went to bed.

This morning I opened my FTP, deleted this theme from the "Themes" folder in FTP, and then dragged it over into "Themes" to try again.

Went to WP, hit "refresh," and nothing.

Exited out of the WP Admin area, then logged back in. Nothing.

I'm really puzzled by this.

Anyone know what I should try next?

I see Craig's got you covered, below.

This may be the issue:

You've unzipped the theme and the theme is in a folder called
"Themename" or whatever.

Before you upload that, check inside for another folder called "Themename".

Sometimes, the theme's folder is inside a folder named by the theme.

I've uploaded a similar folder in the past just to find out the REAL theme's
folder was inside a folder with the same name. Thus, can't activate it.

Give it a try.
