Fellow warriors,

If I want to set up a blog targetting a common typo in a niche, is it a requirement to use the typo as my keyword in the articles that I publish?

The reason for asking is that obviously thats not a problem was just wondering if the domain only should be the typo then use the correct term in the articles is better?

Any advice will be greatfully received

Best wishes

Pete

  • Search for your misspelled keyword and usually Google will advise the searcher it's misspelled.

However, if you do a search for your misspelled keyword you can also note the competition for the misspelling. And if you can get on the first page then that might not be a bad idea.

I've found some of my sites ranking very well for unintentional misspellings. I never go after them on purpose. In my opinion You shouldn't target the misspelling over and over. A few instances on your page and if the competition is low Google will pick up on the word and you'll rank fine. If the competition is high, no point at all.

Errors will usually just make you look bad.
