Need Help! Am NEW to the internet.

Hi All,

I stumbled accross this forum and can see that there are people on here with a great deal of knowledge.

I have created my own website, though am struggling with getting traffic to it.

Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to get FREE traffic to my website?

I have also created a google adwords campaign, though Google wants ridiculous amounts of money for the keywords that I want- so therefore I would love to know how I coulg get on the generic side of google (just to save me some money).

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thx

    1. Participate on your niche related forums
    2. Target some keywords and be on top # 3 on google for those keywords
    3. Do lot of article submissions
    4. Be active on social networks (twitter and etc)

Angel - spend about 3 days READING here and then come back and ask questions.

There is a "search" feature and you can search for answers to your questions and you will find that 99% of them have already been answered.

Whoa! Slow down there! You need to pull back a bit and do some reading to get your head around what is important.

First, head off to Wikipedia and read around the Internet Marketing section...

Internet marketing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Then read this...

How to Build a High-Traffic Web Site (or Blog)

    And this...

Three simple actions that doubled my website traffic in 30 days

And then absorb fully the wisdom from this...

Internet Marketing for the New Generation

    That should get you started

        Hi Angel,

You just made me smile - maybe you would like to start with some other niches for now - like some subniche of women`s health, pets, insurance, etc.? Just something you know a lot about? Or just more than on Internet Marketing.

As for Google AdWords - you need to think outside the box. You need to focus on keywords that are searched for, but cost less. These can be for example typing errors - say "howto do internet marketing" instead of "how to do internet marketing" - well that`s just an example, you don`t need to use this same keyword Depending on the niche, you can also bid on the Google Content Network, instead of Search Network. These clicks might not convert as good, but you cn get them for as low as 0.01 per click.

One more option fr paid advertising, is Microsoft Ad Center. In many niches MSN traffic converts better, and costs less than AdWords.

However, before starting with paid advertising, I suggest you test the page you are linking to, with free methods, such as article marketing - so you know what to expect when spending money. PPC is just the numbers game - by knowing how well your offer converts, you can instantly know what your highest bids can be.

        Hope this helps

If your niche is internet marketing Marketing forums are a good place to post a link to your page, may be with your signature and so... but if your website isn't about anything related to E-Marketing then you're making a huge mistake in what a niche is all about.

For example if your website it's all about cars you should be posting a lot in forums about cars so people who are interested link to your site for info and may be buy what you're marketing.

About the article submition on your site. Make sure that, when writing an article you use a lot of words that are high rank searches on google (you can do this by entering google.com and when you start typing for a word you'll see how high is that search, that's one way).

The above posts are correct. You need to start reading a lot, here in the forum, for people who have done the same question and may be will find some good quality info

I have to agree with Winebuddy and Seamusb. If you are that new at marketing, take some time and just learn about marketing. There are lots and lots of ways to get traffic so spend some time and learn about them.

I also feel that once you have a general idea, pick a couple of methods that sound good to you and just start working at them. It's not an overnight thing so just learn and apply everything. But like I said, don't pick too many ways at the beginning, just a few and keep learning.

    Hi Angel,

Since your a first time marketer, I would recommend
you stay away from payperclick to generate traffic. This
can often result in a very expensive and costly exercise.

I would suggest you try other methods like mentioned above
but heres one that has not been mentioned and has served me well
and that is doing joint ventures with marketers who can send you traffic.
