Which Wordpress theme do you use?

I search themes all the time but I thought it would be useful just to see what themes other Warriors are using, and whether they're free or premium. So I'll go first:

Cutline-1-1.4-2ColumnRight, free theme

I use several different themes - I don't find that one theme fits all.

I use Chris Pearson's Cutline themes, as well as the following:

    Affiliate Nuts (free)
    Wordpress Commerce (free sample theme)

I also use several of the two and three column themes that I am giving away free at:

WP_009 I love this theme. It is totally customizable. And search engine friendly. Has great built in ad spaces and is adsense ready. It takes a bit of fiddling but once you know where everything is; it's a doddle.

Usually I download a good looking free theme and tweak it
a little to make it look the way I like.

I like to do this because, it saves me money and I always

I use Thesis and have used and sometimes still do use the old revolution themes.

The best part about the Thesis theme is how easy it is to set up the main parts of your blog like the navigation bar and the layout.

It seems to be the future of themes and there are other themes which do the same.

Unless you are outsourcing the customization of your blog having the customizing options in your control panel is the way to go.

Agree with this, I like FlexSqueeze too, especially for the squeeze pages you can use.

I also love all The Studio Press Themes and use them often.

The one in my signature is an iThemes premium theme called "Charlie" and I really like the way it looks.

      Hi

i am using the flexsqueeze theme too, however I can't see to be able to change the theme lightness and /or the layout, i do go the options pages, select them, click the confirm link under each.... and nothing happens....

      Any clue anybody?

      Marco

PS Other than that, it's a great theme!! Love the squeeze pages!

My blog WhoIsJeffMitchell.Com is the "Live Wire" theme from WooThemes. I paid to have it altered to my specs with a programmer here at Warrior.

His name is Robert Dickson from Porcupine Website Design, and he did a great job. I highly suggest if you find a blog that is close to what you want....he can make it what you want.

      Hope that helps.

I've just started a few new blogs, a half a dozen or so, using Cutline (3 column R/L) and do a quick edit on some images to replace the default headers. I like it a lot though that image is rather large and pushes your content to the 'break' fairly fast.

Tip: when creating replacement header images for Cutline. Use the same image as the starting point, reverse it, slice a different piece or angle of it, or take a large image and slice it 5 times to create your 5 different images.

I mostly use WP default. Yep. But...

I customize a kubrickheader.jpg (sometimes footer and other images as well) for the niche, and use a different color background (usually just a small mostly solid colored square sliced from the edited header I created) to customize it. It really cuts down on compatibility problems with older themes and new WP versions.

A hint/trick though if you use the Default theme, it is overwritten if you do autoupdate - to keep from losing your tweaks when updating WP is to rename the default theme folder something lke 'defaultme' so it is not automatically overwritten during updates. Be sure to change themes before you change that folder name. Then just reactivate the theme.

I like the themehybrid theme myself. It is free, but absolutely on par with the much more expensive premium themes out there. That said, I wouldn't use the word "easy" myself, when it comes to customizing it. Themehybrid offers lots of functionality (which interests me most), but changing colors, header, etc does involve playing with .css code. If someone wants to dive into learning to customize a theme, developer Justin Tadlock's support ($25 per year) is tops.

I has to be the best theme out there and the SEO optins are great. I posted an article the other week, not really keywords driven, I found myself on page 1 of Google yesterday

It does take a little coding if you want to customise Thesis but the standard layout is also excellent!!

Depends on the size of the site you are wanting to build.
If its a simple site - less than 50 pages - I'll use Wordpress

If its a complex site with varied side bars and blocks and lots of pages, I'll use Joomla

      As for the templates
I like Flexsqueeze - I've set that up for several clients - the developer has done a great job.
But lately I've been building my own themes depending on the functions needed for the site.
Example - The templates I build for John's (Xfactor) Micro Niche Site program are light weight and have very specific qualities to maximize the click through rate according to his course specs.

Also if I am using Joomla and Wordpress on the same domain I'll build matching templates so it looks seamless to the visitor.

It all depends on what the goal of the website is on what template I use.

Did someone mention Atahualpa? Well, it's free and fine if you're happy with a somewhat 'home-made', dated look to your sites, but now a bit of a dinosaur in my opinion.
