willing to write free article for 5 people

Hi my name is Rume, and I am looking to start making a little money on the side writing articles for people.
Unfortunately I have no references and so it's hard to get people to hire me. So I am offering to write a 300 to 500 word article for free for 5 people who are interested. All I ask in return is that if I do a good job I can use you as a reference.
If you're interested then email me at:mekadon06@yahoo.com

No offense, but the last person that offered this flaked out and disappeared. I hope you do better.

Me too. I gave that guy a testimonial, because he was a really good writer. Kinda bothered me when he buggered off.

Rume, I'm sending you a PM right after I post this.

Good Lord, you don't know the half of it. I've spent the last month primarily writing for UK clients in the offline contracting niche. I now know more about IR35, NI contributions, PAYE schemes, and HMRC enquiries than the average British business owner.

Ha ha.. yeah I sound like a jerk don't I? I guess I'm venting on the new guy for what the old guy did.

What I mean and didn't say is:

If he/she ( don't know which ) does a good job, follows through, etc. They can get credibility and repeat business.

Just to clarify the old person you are talking about didn't reply to PM's when he asked for people to write for. He then came back and said he would write but you had to pay for the free samples, so it got nuked because he was selling on the MF.

CDarlock, isn't British tax an interesting subject, I specalised in UK tax when I was an accountant there. Hopefully, they didn't ask you to do your research from Butterworths Yellow and Orange Tax Handbook, a cure for sleeplessness.

It's infuriating. UK business laws are just different enough from US business laws that I keep having to fact-check everything I write a dozen times; IR35, for example, is almost - but not quite - identical to the IRS contractor/employee guidelines.

And since I know people will be making real business decisions based on these articles, no matter what disclaimers might go on the sites, I get paranoid about the possibility of someone totally borking up their business.

Also it will depend where you do you research from. The HMCustoms and Excise site only covers the basic elements of tax, there are so many other things which will make a difference to a business. If you are writing a large amount of UK tax, then get a copy of Tolley's which you can buy from Amazon, it will give you a lot more information. However, it isn't just reading the tax laws which helps but understanding how these tax laws are implemented.

    Hey OP

I feel for you as I know it can be really difficult.

Anyway, if you find yourself short of work, I could always try and get you in with the outfit I write for. They're a great bunch to work for as they keep you extremely busy, but of course the pay isn't that great. I've been with them for over a year now and so far I've always managed to earn enough to live on. If you're interested, just PM me.

    S
