How to split-test 2 complete sites?

I want to split-test two totally different designs, both with the same copy. Is there a better way to do this than preparing two complete sets of pages labelled as follows:

index.html
articles.html
faq.html

and

index2.html
articles2.html
faq2.html

So far as I can see, this is the only way to guarantee each visitor views the same design throughout. Incoming visits will be split between index.html and index2.html.

My site has more than 50 pages so I'd appreciate suggestions if there's an easier way to do this.
