Launching Physical Product To Email List

I have a list of people who signed up for a free report about a natural cure to a problem.

I am launching a physical product that doesn't directly cure this problem, but is similar in that it is natural and cures similar problems.

My question is what is the best way to launch to to this list since it isn't exactly what they signed up for.

I need to educate them on this other problem the product cures. My first thought was just send them a report, follow-up with a sales letter.

Also thought of driving them to an "article" that's informational but also a presale with links to the store the product will be sold in.

Another option is a sales letter right in the email with a buy button.

And yet another, send this list a note informing them of this new company and if they'd like to know more they can opt-in and I can market to a list of much warmer leads that way. (would likely offer the report discussed earlier).

Just a little stumped and hoping for some help.

    In my opinion, taking action is important. You have a list. Your list is only useful while it's "fresh" -- people will forget you quickly. While you're deciding strategy, you might simply send educational material to hold people's attention, educate them on the topic they're interested in (their reason why they came to you after all :-) ), and simply connect with them. You'll build trust. That's the core that you need for sales anyway, so why not simply start building it now?

    Use content marketing.

    Write an article that talks about the product they DID sign up for and introduce the related product.

    Of course, you need to play up the DRAMA so you get engaged eyeballs. Otherwise, people would feel too busy to read.
