These Marketing Tips Helped Me Fail Fast, then Succeed
Online Business is Still Business: And business networking can save your life. Don't forget this. Who you know sometimes is more valuable than what you know. Online business connections are just as important, sometimes even more important than offline ones, for the simple fact that we can communicate across oceans.
NEVER Forsake a Potential Asset: Think your email list, Twitter account, Website, etc isn't preforming well and never will? Think again. Who knows, you could just be terrible at marketing. The full potential of your assets can only be realized after you've tried and tested them from every angle.
Have a Budget: Without one, you'll spend $40,000+ (like I did) on "tools" and "opportunities" that you "need" in order to better your chances to be successful online. When in actuality what you really need is a plan. Which leads me into my next point...
Have a Business Plan: Seriously, you need to write things down (or type). If it's not written down then it only exists in your head and we all know the human mind tends to twist, manipulate, and even forget ideas on a daily basis. Don't invest your most important asset: time, without knowing exactly what you're doing with it, more importantly why you're doing what you're doing with it.
Consistence is Key: Everyday you should be making progress in one way or another. If you're not progressing then you're either remaining stagnant or regressing. Both are bad.
Take Charge: I didn't start to see real success until I read a quote from Einstein (which may or may not be real I just remember associating it with him) and it goes something like this: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result."
That's exactly what I was doing, not the exact same thing over and over again, but the consistent buying and investing into bogus products, traffic sources, and business opportunities that wasted my most valuable asset: time. So I looked back and after I realized how much time I used making mistakes, I became mad at myself and decided to change my business plan completely.
This business is all about evolution in my opinion. I see it everyday. The internet is constantly evolving, and so are the many ways we can engage with our potential customers. This is why mistakes will be, and must be made. It's only when you stop learning from those mistakes that they actually become failures. (I think that's another quote from somewhere but couldn't find it so I take no credit)
Hope this helped at least one person
