Thank You Page or Sales Page

I have my funnel setup where my leads go straight to my sales page after opting in instead of a "Thank You Page". Would this method be more effective?

I guess I would need to know a few things first before providing any feedback.

    1. What is your offer on the opt-in page that you are delivering a promise to?

    2. Assuming you are providing some form of free guide/report, software download, etc., you could deliver the free item directly on the Sales Page if you wanted, but I would need to understand it better.

    3. Is your sales page directly related to your opt-in page?

    Thanks

      Martbost thanks for the reply!

      Here is my site www.greenelixir.org

The offer is a Detox & Nutrition Supplement

Here is the link to my sales pages after opting in http://www.organifi.com/2-classic-cb/

I haven't sent any traffic as of yet. I have a "Thank You" or "Congratulations" Email sequence delivering valuable free content with related offers.

      Thanks again!

Test both to see which works best.

it depends on the kind of traffic you are using. if it is warm traffic such as soloads then this funnel will get you some sales. if it is cold traffic, you will be very lucky to get a sale. You should not promote anything immediately, always after you have built trust.

I do the same thing and have for years. My funnel is very simple. It goes from my squeeze page to a really attractive, low-cost original offer that I put together using good PLR products, WordPress plugins, templates, blog themes, etc. It converts very well.

My AR is set up to send the link to the download/thank-you page in my "welcome" email. I've only received a few complaints about the way my funnel is set up in the 10 years I've been doing this.

It's important to mention that I rotate the offers depending on the traffic source I'm using. With solo ads, which is warm traffic, I use a much higher priced offer where I can usually cover the cost of my solo buys with just 1 or 2 sales.

Depending on your niche, you should try testing both. In the "make money online" niche, people are pretty used to being sent directly to an offer after they opt-in. In other niches this will not be nearly as effective. If I were in a niche such as "dog training" or "teeth whitening" for example, I would not send my opt-ins right to a sales page. I would deliver the download/lead magnet immediately after opt-in.

I think it's more important to build a relationship in those niches before asking for the sale.

You only get one shot at life - make it awesome.

Everyone else also gets just one crack at it - help make theirs awesome too... or, politely step out of their way.

That depends on "what your optin or squeeze page promise your visitors?" If it promise to give away free report you redirect your subscribers to Thank you page or download page.

But if your squeeze page headline`s offer some special discount or cheap live case study, then it`s better to redirect them directly into the sales page.

    All my best,

Yes. It all depends on what you are promising your leads (for opting in).

I never offer people a 'FREE Gift' in return for their email.

I tell them 'up front' that they are opting into my sales funnel to see a very powerful income opportunity.

Once they opt in they immediately are redirected to a very powerful VSL.

      Always be straight with people.

Two things. First is do you have tracking set up to see where your leads are coming from? Second I have learned that each step that somebody does qualifies them even more to be a buyer rather than someoody who just sits on your list and does nothing.

You should also have a double opt in today just to help screen people. The truth of the matter is without double optin only around 10% or less will take an action.

You can definitely combine the two, with the thank you portion up top. Below you can add a few thumbnails with CTA to the products respective salespages. I would also recommend adding free information somewhere between the thank you and sales portion.

Just make sure you design your page so the sales portion with the CTA is above the webpage's fold

I like a welcoming thank you page to engage with and have a link that goes to an oto sales page.

If you are sure that the leads well targeted, keep it up, and watch your conversion rate rising.

Personally, I do things a little different than most marketers.

To me, I don't consider solo ad leads "warm." Maybe they're warmer than the coldest of leads, but to me a person isn't warm until they qualify themselves and opt in to your system (subscribe to your list). I don't believe there is anything "warm" about someone that hasn't given you their permission to contact them because they want to be contacted by you.

Remember, leads are people. Unfortunately, many marketers consider leads nothing but faceless contact information . . . and they treat them as such.

How would you want to be treated?

I usually don't use a traditional TY page.

Instead, I ask for a favor. I tell them my email system sends a test message to the address they entered. The favor is simply to click the link (the confirmed opt-in) to let the system know the test message got through.

Next is a link that says 'next' or 'continue' or similar.

Most of the time, the destination page is a survey, ala Ryan Levesque's ASK Method.

One thing that I do differently is that I never mention the double opt-in as a way to avoid spam. You won't find that four letter word anywhere.

You see, the human mind has problems processing negatives. Say "We will never spam you" and people will get "we will spam you." I don't want them thinking about anything but the good stuff that will happen when they follow my CTAs.

I remember you said this a while ago and it really stuck with me. I have no evidence, to be honest, but whenever I tell people, "This bad thing won't happen, don't worry," they worry and start asking questions. So now I don't mention things like that, in general not just when it comes to email marketing, and only talk about if they bring it up.

It doesn't matter where you send them...both are good.

Just remember when they optin you should be selling a very low ticket item, usually between $1 - $10 range, which is what we call a TRIP WIRE!

Make it irresistible, and at a price that will make them ACT RIGHT NOW so they won't have to second-guess it.

If they don't buy right then and there...

    No worries!

That doesn't mean they are not a buyer.

That just means they don't know you well enough to buy from you yet. Now... your job is to keep following up with them until they do.

The other reason they might not buy is that they were just not interested in what you had to offer at that time. They may be interested in it later, but at that moment, it wasn't something they needed right now.

The main reason to do this, is to see if you have a HOT BUYER on your hands. If that's the case put them on your buyer's list and treat them like GOLD!

If you do it right, you will have a lifetime fan and customer

Another important thing you'll want to do is train them to start checking their email for your emails.

To do this don't send them straight to your thank you or sales page first...Remember whatever they optin for they WANT IT.

So, send them to a page that tells them to GO AND CHECK their email to click on the link to confirm their subscription first. Also make sure to tell them to white list your emails address. (very important)

Then let them know that their download link or whatever they opted in for will come in the next email.

This technique does a few things.

    1. It's getting them use to you telling them what you want them to do, which is take action.
    2. It's bouncing them around to do things, which makes them feel an instant bond towards you.
    3. It's also training them to be checking their emails for your stuff in the future.

    Hope this helps!

If you go with the Thank you page one thing to try that works and keeps people coming back to you is to have a unadvertised bonus on the page to download it makes them feel special

And don't spam the list and you find them more responsive to any offers and once a month find some cheap PLR that you can change a bit and give it to them
