I am a programmer and now all up to get into affiliate marketing. I found a theme Viper which I think fits well for what I am looking for but since I am not into designing much, I am feeling kind of obstacle to set theme first and then I start main thing that's sharing stuff.

So the question is, can I just start my site with a blog first, gain some authority, share useful stuff Without any affiliate product marketing and once I get in flow then I setup a shop and start sharing affiliate links?

I want to remove all frictions that has been keeping me away for many years. I don't wana think of too many things, just want to make content strategy and start.

Please guide

To really get started in Affiliate Marketing you need to build a list.

I would recommend that you focus on having quality content rather than the theme. When you are searching on the net for information are you bothered about the theme very much? You are interested in the content. Obviously your site needs to look neat and professional looking for visitors to take your content seriously.

You should have on your site an optin for a free product. Once visitors have signed up you can with an autoresponder send emails that promote products. Statistically only 1-2% of new visitors buy directly from a site. A much higher precentage will opt in for a quality free product.

    Best wishes

This is exactly what you should do,

Do not worry about promoting products from your blog in the beginning.

Write the best content you can--and then as your blog gains traffic--you can start promoting affiliate products.

Do not forget to start building a email list right from the beginning--give something of value for an email.

Also,do not forget to share your content on social media, like having a faceook page for your blog, and a twitter account, and other social media as well.

Remember, take your time, write good content--and you will gain readership and then you can start promoting products.

    Hope this helps.

While the previous posts have good advice, they don't answer your question.

When you are first starting out, you have much more important things to think about than a blog theme.

As long as it loads quickly, is easy to read and navigate, and doesn't distract from the content, any theme you pick is fine. I tend to use Wordpress default themes with a little tweaking to avoid the straight out of the box look.

Then again, I'm not an affiliate for a theme seller...

Well first off... you need to think about a few things.

The easier it is to read and consume by your readers the more they will want to come back.

So make sure the theme you choose has a clean platform and the fonts are easy to read.

And I also agree with JonMcCabe, in that it should load fast. Between 1-2 seconds is good by Google anything like 4-5 seconds or higher can possibly hurt your rankings.

I think it's a good idea to build your name up first with readers. Get them to subscribe to your blog. Once you have a nice list built up you can then start marketing to them.

One word of advice on that, though...If you build a list of freebie seekers, they will do you no good when it comes to trying to market to them on affiliate products. So make sure you segment your list of potential buyer as early as possible.

When you create your blogs make sure to add in your affiliate links in every single post and cross link to your other blogs. Use image graphics and anchor text for this.

That way no matter which page your readers land on you will be making some possible revenue.

This is the best way to be a silent affiliate marketer if you choose to be. You don't even need a list to do it this way.

But if you don't use a list, remember you are going to have to drive traffic to your site in one form or another.

    Hope that helps a bit...

Important its not the theme ,important its your content because if its original it will rank in google and if you give value people will buy from you . Google and people dont look for what theme you have they look for content .Of course a good theme can give a good aspect to your site but i think you should not focus all your atention on this aspect
