New Site - First Month - getting 25000 Unique Users

Hi,

Saw the following for the planning of a SaaS product:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...oqI/edit#gid=1

It states that one would get 25000 visitors during the first month - out of which, one would get 80 new signups.

Is it realistic to get 25000 New Unique visitors the *first month* after a new site is created? How could such a thing happen?

TIA

I think it's possible, depending on your advertising efforts. I actually think that the site could be so creative and interesting. I also think they have spent so much for the site to make it garner 25k visitors.

It's possbile, but not realistic for most people. If you paid for the traffic, you could theoretically achieve it no matter what if you are willing to spent the money.

Its not much time for search engine rankings, so traffic for that would be minimal, it would be really hard to get that with search engine rankings alone. It could happen with a big social media following possibly.

That business plan there seems flawed... where do the initial 25k come in the first month? Also if those 25k come so fast, why does growth slow, I guess it is based on paying for a big startup userbase. It is a more realistic model without the inital 25k though.

First, let's put your misconceptions to rest...

If you read the instructions, Step 2 says...
"Plug your current monthly traffic in the orange cell"
What they are asking is that you put YOUR current monthly traffic into that cell.

I'm not sure how realistic it is for you, but we had just under 50,000 visitors to our site in our first month -- all using "free" traffic.

How did we do it? Three ways:
    1. Our site concept struck a chord with our target market. At the time, there was no other site out there like ours.

    2. Our website was useful and user friendly. We're strong advocates of the Minimum Viable Product model, and while our site was certainly nowhere near as good or complete as it is now (hence the "minimum"), it did offer enough meat to pique our users' interest and to keep them coming back for more (hence the "viable").

    3. We hustled. A lot. What kind of husting? Well, the first thing we did was to send out notifications to our friends and colleagues to share our site with their networks. (It helped that (a) many of our friends (and their friends) fell into our target market and (b) many of our friends and colleagues were very well connected.) We also found and contacted a variety of organizations and online media that we felt would be excited by what we built. We especially targeted social media influencers, either those with large followings themselves, or those who may have had smaller followings, but who were well connected within the networks most vital to our success.

If all of the above sounds like a lot of work -- well, it was! And not just hard work, smart work and creative work too. But hey, if it had been easy, someone else would have done it already, right?

    Good luck!

You could probably get that much in bot traffic, but doubtful with real people. If there were that many people looking for your site they would have already found someone else and moved on. If there were that many people looking for your information they would go with established sites over yours. But it is possible to build large lists over time with the right system

If done through advertising with facebook then it's a very normal and not usual thing.

Honesty, I doubt that you could get that traffic in one month.

However, it is solid long term goal
