Must I blog in perpetuity?

So, let's say I get this blog going, start making some money from it etc. Must I submit new blog articles regularly for the rest of my days for it to be profitable? If so, how the heck am I supposed to write quality content when I have written a blog on everything I can think of relevant to the niche?

You don't need to post regularly. Just post every week or once every two weeks. The point here is consistency and it pays off. You should be spending 20% of your time writing the content while spending about 80% promoting it.

Make sure it's about a niche which basically never ends. You can keep writing quality content about the three big niches. Health, Wealth, and Relationships. You want your email list to be more active than the blog. Why? It makes sense to join someone's email list who is constantly posting quality stuff rather than if someone just keeps pumping out quality content and occasionally emails you quality content. There should be a perk to signing up to someone's email.

You really shouldn't need more than a few dozen articles. What I do in all my niches is simply update and recycle most articles year after year.

In addition, consider promoting them widely through syndication for maximizing leveraged exposure.

New readers most probably will never see the repetition, and most everyone else should either be already deep in your funnel system or have forgotten about the articles anyway.

This marketing model has been used effectively in offline mass publications for many decades, and even more so online in recent years.

Are there any WordPress plug-ins or strategies you use specifically to recycle posts?

As a personal preference, I don't use WordPress or any other blogging platform.

My writing staff produces and/or "recycles" 2-3 articles each week for every niche I market.

These articles (typically 800-1200 words) are first posted on their respective websites, then systematically submitted to strategic syndication partners in online/offline publications.

These articles directly drive massive quantities of highly convertible traffic to their respective websites.

This has always been the core of my marketing strategy for over 20 years. It consistently beats the hell out of my competition.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

You thought exactly right. My marketing strategy actually leverages quality content to the max through massive syndication in some of the most prestigious online/offline publications.

Updating, editing, and recycling quality articles is practiced by many professionals to meet changing times and fresh new audiences. Quite often, even subtle changes in syntax or context can produce massive positive results.

          Theo,
If the content is quality to begin with there is nothing wrong with sharing it with different people on multiple occasions.

So quality can be king...over and over and over again

    Hi Neil,

Once a week should be fine, frequency-wise.

As for your writer's block, practice observing your ideal readers and their problems or struggles. Sometimes just a bit more watching will give you a steady flow of helpful, inspired ideas.

I'd also say to check your energy around this niche. Follow your fun, or, consider letting the blog go entirely. Meaning you can trash it or just allow it to earn a bit on auto pilot but if you don't feel passionate about the subject matter, drive in to a niche/topic which feels fun to you.

    Happy Blogging.

Here's a really good tip that most marketers don't even think of doing.

In fact, this is going to be my whole agenda in 2017!

Instead of just doing a written blog on your site...spread it around all over in different formats.

Here's some ways to do that:

    1. YouTube It! - Make a power point slide show or just talk about it, in front of the camera, if you know the content well. Or maybe do a whiteboard presentation on it!

    2. Pod Cast It! - Create a podcast out of the blog. [HINT] no extra work needed, just steal the audio from the video you made for YouTube

There are some other things you can do as well, but I don't want to give away all of my secrets. hahaha!

Hope this gets your mind going!

      Hi Ronnie,

Good call on the youtube and podcast. I launched the blog, youtube channel and podcast simultaneously and I am updating each one once a week (but the podcast and youtube video get posted to the blog in addition to the written article).

I guess this grasshoppa just has to have patience.

Maintain your blog posting frequency. It will help you to keep your blog fresh and updated. Posting 3 to 4 times in a week is a great way to keep things steady. Also try to maintain the quality of your post as well.

While this is good advice on the whole, if you do plan to create your podcast this way you have to pay some attention to how the video is scripted. Remember, the podcast won't have the visuals that the video does.

I've tried many podcasts created this way, and dumped almost all of them because they use language like "as you can see from the diagram" or other references to things that are not there. Very frustrating, and easy to avoid with a little thinking up front.

    Pal,

You don't need to blog all day everyday to see positive results. It would even just be good if you blog once or twice weekly. In this way, you always have the drive to create the best blogs, bring the interest of your readers in, and possibly earn from it!

    Good luck!

Well, if this internet marketing stuff is
going to pay your rent then I guess you
can think of it as your job...and blogging
is just part of that job.

Anyway, you need to be creative there are
dozens of different ideas for blog posts
that don't have to involve the same old
    subject matter.

A good example is interviewing people in
    your niche.

Or reviewing books that are related to
    your niche.

Or "Roundup" posts where you post a
"best of" list of other blog posts in your
    niche.

Or a send me your questions and I'll answer them
    post.

These are just a couple of ideas.
