So I see a lot of people disliking Traffic Exchanges as a whole. WHY?

Im looking for real criticism and feedback on what can be done to get Internet marketers to take another look at Traffic exchanges.

Please first hand feedback is what Im looking for. If a friend told you they suck your feedback isnt much to work from.

Thank you to all who read and Answer.

Some traffic exchanges, the surfers watch the timer instead of actually looking at the presented site. One thing to make that better is to have a test page ever so often and award a bonus for actually looking at the page. Some use letters for a secret word. The person is to keep surfing until they find all the letters to a word.

What I have seen and think is a good idea (Which I failed to do at first) = Gulp !.....was to answer the question on a page in the rotation from the TE admin, and that was = "What was the name of the last site you viewed" ? Of course if you answer correctly you are given some goodies like surfing credits, text and banner impressions.

Traffic Exchange sites are really gives you junk traffic at all. There is no credible traffic coming from these sites. People visit sites for earning credits only and there is no conversion in it. That's why Marketers do not rely on traffic exchange sites.

vishwa Kinda of a basic generic statement. Im not here to defend traffic exchange although as a TE owner i would love to. but im looking for examples of what marketers want to see. or things they like and want to see expanded.

mdallen i agree with some of the things you said. which is why im asking for feedback. but a comment about fleecing people. you are going to have bad apples in every Niche on the net. traffic exchange are no different.

davehayes you thought and experiance is helpful love the way you explained how you work the system. rather then letting systems work you

JohnMcCabe - your comment is on to something. there is 50 people surfing right now, that would love to learn how to make 20 bucks a day. but the system many show them is $200 and they have never heard nor seen it before.

its kinda like using the wrong bait for fishing. you wouldn't use a castmaster for a sturgeon then why sell a 200 product to a 10 dollar buyer.

I love the comments and feedback Im sorry if i am defending too much ( not why i asked the question) I am looking for ways to change things in my own site to prove and provide more value to marketers. as well as bring new offers in for the people fishing for a new way to earn.

I use to own a traffic exchange and myself and the people I did promos with were the only ones making money in the traffic exchange niche. People selling the software and mods make good money too. Surfers do not make money. The concept is flawed because everyone is there with the intent of selling. The only way it could ever work is if there were people who were there with no intent to be seen and they just wanted to buy. It is a large group of freebie seekers and people wanting to be seen, but there are no people there looking to see your site except as an exchange to be seen. They are not buyers as they are there to sell. This is the largest waste of time anyone can spend. If you want to get traffic I suggest anything else as, you can click for hours daily and never get anywhere. Anyone who is actually teaching you how to get traffic and sales will tell you to stay away from traffic exchanges. many people starting out look for some free pie in the sky answer and they Google free traffic and end up in traffic exchanges. This is why so many new people fail. They are expecting to make money without investing anything and they are attempting to sell to other sellers rather than looking for buyers. No system could be so flawed and still be around, but the software that runs the TEs is being sold and they are making money so it will continue to rip people off. Anyone suggesting that these do work is lying to you and not your friend. This is why I am no longer an owner. I wanted to do something to actually help people (which is why I had a TE to begin with.) When I realized there was no chance for anyone to actually be successful as a surfer I changed to something where people can actually make money online. I have been around traffic exchanges since 2008 and have zero examples of successful surfers. There are many people who have made money as owners but all at the expense of people who are trying to make a living online. So to recap TE software sales and TE owners who fleece people making money: good honest folk not...

      Dear MDALLEN,
Thank you for your lengthy TE input. Amazing to know since I was considering getting my own TE. Thank you for the wise words. Do you have any suggestions for quick ways to actually make some money, i.e. programs from which you were successful? I'm not looking for the pie in the sky become a millionaire overnight crud. I have no problems with working eight plus hours a day on the Internet - I often do - I just want to hear from someone who actually makes money with an honest, legitimate program.

What an interesting thread this is and the comments about owning a TE are worth noting.

I agree with the sales funnel strategy as its a proven way to build your list. I use optimize press for my own funnel simply because it is easy to set up.

Traffic exchanges themselves are a great way of generating traffic as long as you understand the concept of them and how they work.

There are very few really good exchanges to surf, the exceptions in my book, being the following

      Trafficg

      Trafficadbar

      Hitsafari

      Soaring4traffic

      The Advert Platform

      Clixsense

I say exceptions, because, all of them have provided me with optins and conversions.

Clixsense does it via the clixgrid ads

TAP provides good quality traffic, exceptional CTRs my blog getting over 21% and shared socially too, plus over 90% profit share paid every 20 minutes for 12 minutes surfing daily

The remainder require you to surf, how long is up to you, but again provide the following

Referral credits and commissions on upgrade as wel as optins.

The main purpose of a TE in my opinion is to build up referral credits and commissions so that your surfing pays you.

      Hope this answer is helpful

The main problem with traffic exchanges is that the people participating are not looking for your offer. They're looking for people to look at their offer.

It's the same with FB groups that exist for people to post free ads. Nobody is actually reading your ad. They're too busy posting their own ads.
