3400 list - 95 opens - 32 clicks

This is an older segment of a list I have that dates back over a year ago.

Your opinion? Just delete them all?

Keep them?

What do you think?

That's a pretty tough thing to generalize - depends allot on your headline, post and promise within the post.

If you have an older list, but it is targerted, then what I would do is prepare a campaign where you offer a free series of videos or lessons and have people "subscribe" to those which brings the most responsive into a new list where eventually you can pretty much abandon the older one.

But you need to warm them up to you again - that won't happen with one email.

I wouldn't call 40-50 sales for each email you send out a dead list.

Me either! I would love to have that kind of response.

The list segment I am talking about has no opens for the last 3 or 4 months but they have been getting regular followups with content.

Sounds to me like you're getting rerouted to some junk folders. Whether it's manual or automated, who's to know. But I'd bet a lot of those folk are never seeing the messages in the first place.

Lance - that's what I think too. I was wondering....

If I change the "from address" would that cause them to appear in the regular inbox? Or just the fact that they are from my autoresponder - would that cause them to go to spam folders?

            Perplexed....

Right, so, you have a DORMANT list who has not heard from you in a while, and you hit them with an offer.

BIG surprise you're not getting hits.

You have to warm them up with PURE content and ZERO offers. The only link in your first couple of emails to them, should be an unsubscribe link, NOTHING more.

Give them rock solid, USABLE content, which leads into the offer you're going to make 3 to 5 emails down the line.

    Just my 2c.

      It's a slightly confusing picture.

32 clicks from 95 opens seems very high indeed to me, from a list with an open-rate of less than 2.8%!

Is this really one list? All assembled the same way and opted in to the same thing?

Anyway, I agree with the comments above, in general. But I'd initially be trying subject-line things to try to increase the open-rate rather than the click-rate, for sure. And if that doesn't ever work at all, I suppose the conclusion is that you're hitting a lot of junk folders for some reason.
Same list - same optin form - all the same.

Like you said, the open rate is way low (2.8%). But 33.7% of the ones who do open, click. It's hard to believe that the subject lines are that bad if the body copy is that good.

But I agree, there's no harm in testing subject lines.

The statement below is why I made the assumption about the junk folders.

There can be LOTS of reasons why the list is not responsive, but the real question is this: Is it making you more than it costs you?

If you are using the full Aweber tracking package then there is a direct cost for those subscribers as well as the indirect cost of any time you spend worrying about just them.

If you just send them out broadcasts you are already sending to others on your list and those subscribers are more than paying their Aweber fee, then I would say keep them.

If you decide they are not and you want to delete them you can go to "deactivate list" and the list will eventually be deleted.

Test it again with an "attention grabbing" title and promote an
awesome offer, or just give away a free report.

It may be dead but it maybe NOT. Maybe you had these
bad open rates and click rates because you didn't send out
    a good offer.

There's a lot of stuff when it comes to list building, so I
recommend that you test it again before you delete it.

Oh you guys just made me test other thing I am actually now testing a low cost product that I just setup 20 minutes ago - and so far for 10 minutes after I sent my product to my list I got 6 orders not bad. I will be happy to get 100 at the end of tommorow.
