I've created some good video content that I'm happy with. I've learned enough about YouTube & SEO to know how to get rankings in relevant markets. (Many thanks to Sean & Video Assassin 2) Will YouTube penalize me for posting the EXACT same video across several different titles, keywords & descriptions? I know duplicate content w/ SEO is penalized...but do the youtube algorithms look at things like file size? (surely they don't currently have the technology to look for duplicate content) I would love to use the same video across several good keywords in a single market....but don't know enough about the long term possible consequences. Thanks for your help! |

Actually YouTube does have duplicate content filters but only uses them in extreme circumstances (mostly for copyrighted material like movie clips, news casts, etc). The reason they have these is to stop people suddenly posting 100s of clips of "Kanye West at the VMA's" for example. There would be 100s of postings of the same clips over and over again when there is no real need for it and that eats up valuable resources on their end. For the most part it is 100% fine. I do it all the time and have never had an issue. Now, if YouTube does start knocking out duplicate videos in the future, who knows. But as of right now, YouTube and many other video sites do not filter in this manner. All the best Sean |

Just wanted to let everyone know I recently uploaded a video that was "duplicate content". youtube rejected it, even though I had changed the file name, and all titles & description. They must be looking at the file size...so I guess they're already filtering out videos by file size. I'm actually excited about this as they're really focusing on making us use good SEO techniques...will weed out the "weak". |

Maybe you should also try changing the file name of the video you're uploading. Just in case there not only looking at files sizes.

Change the length (important) and add a new intro. Are you using different accounts?
