Discovered a few choice domains with 'sony' in them should I?

Pretty prime domains under 8 characters (actually less) but am I asking for a lawsuit?

I checked the TM info and they have 'sony' tm'd obviously but the terms are unclear to me. Am I not allowed to use the term anywhere in the domain?

Is Sony a Corp that will hunt me down to the ends of the earth? (some let it slide depending on the use)....

hint it contains also model number of a sony product.

My inclination is to stay away but I am tempted, the numbers look good

In my humble opinion you should stay away from any domain name with "sony" in it.

The general rule of thumb is to avoid using any trademark name or brand in your domain before the 3rd /

For example

Not acceptable
http:// brandname.com

Acceptable
http:// yourwebsite. com /brandname

You could use the domain name with the ™ name in it but you run the risk of losing all the work you put into it. They may find you and ask you to remove it 3 months into the project or 3 years but when they tell you to remove it you must and you have no recourse.

Corporations with a lot of fire power rely on the simple but easy tactic of.

"I have more money and can bully you into giving in...." They have the resources to be bullies and I doubt you can match them.

That is good to know. I knew there had to be a quick and basic TM rule. I know some let it slide but if they don't, I wont win that's an ugly issue to face starting a project unless I can rank it with little effort.

I will pass I don't have time to waste right now.

I could tell you stories!

I deal with a lot of licensed products and I had knock down slap fest with Croc's inc a while back. Companies with deep pockets can make your life miserable just because they can.
