need input for developing directory

Hi all
I am developing a website and need some input from fellow designers,marketers,writers, whatever you may do!
To be quick..it will be a one stop site for everything emarketing and developing eproducts, promotions,finding content,writers,etc.
A fairly complex directory structure with classifieds, reviews,etc. Eventually adding profiles for providers,a freelance type of area and other options. Again, all free.
I'm setting up a glossary/dictionary of terms for newbies and oldies like what is a PLR, whats the difference between master resale rights and..
things like that.
It will be absolutely totally free, in the true sense of the word free.
I need some categories/topics,etc that would suit for users to submit their info. if you get time and feel so inclined, send some categories, ideas, what you would like the site to do for you and your business.
This is a very specific site for those of us in the 'emarketing' genre. from ecover design to content writing to PLR listing and anything else we can come up with.
thanks for any input. I am working on this late nights after client work and expect to be ready to roll within 2weeks!

if it was me I would go to sitepoint and for around $500 buy an existing directory with PR and Traffic.

I see them there all the time, usually 3 or 4 of them listed

an active directory would probably make back the cost in a few months, especially if you marketed it well.

if you build one from scratch it will cost how much $, and or how much time? and in 3-4 months you most likely would just be getting started on your way to have enough links to have PR and to justify people paying to be included.
