Everybody agrees that listing great benefits, showing amazing results and posting heartfelt testimonies will increase the success of any product launch but how can you pull it off when the product is not even created yet?
In the case of membership sites most gurus tell you to only create the first few weeks to test if people will even signup. That way, if it's a failure, you didn't waste too much time or money. By now I'm sure you're seeing the conundrum... so here's my question: Is it possible to create a buzz about the launch of a virtually nonexistent membership site to see how interested people are without over extending yourself into its creation just in case it flops and how would you go about it? I thought this would make an interesting thread, I'm very curious to hear what you guys are thinking! P.S. Books or softwares are too easy... Give a free copy to a dozen people in exchange for heartfelt testimonials and proof of amazing results and you're done. I'm talking about a membership site, fix length or ongoing with very little content created! OK GO! |

It's done all the time in this very forum, just sneakily. The long long threads where the poster is giving out killer information for free, many times is a very well thought out pre-planned strategy to create a buzz and later do a launch. It's usually a win-win for both poster and forum readers, but many a product has been developed (or not) based on these type of threads. That's my take on it at least.

Yeah, that's been my experience too George, especially in this forum. Matter of fact, it's been a little while since we've seen a really good one to watch the progress in action.
![]() I like to watch stuff like that. It's like building a case file about that seller and product if it ever evolves. |

Ok, I like it!
So do the first two things (benefits and results) by reading and copying what all the other gurus in that niche are doing and saying. Help people with articles on a blog and forums and if you do it well and long enough people won't care about the fact that you don't have any testimonies yet on launch day. |
