I need your suggestions here.Which are the proven most effective ways to distribute a free e book on IM Strategies?

Personally, I enjoy great success using article marketing and forum to distribute a free e-book. Here's what i did:

I set up a squeeze page and offer the book for free, in exchange for visitors' email addresses and names. Then i wrote 5 articles a day (for 2 weeks) and submit to EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com

I also participated in forums and start discussion on relevant topics related to the e-book.

if it is totally free like the one in your sig file (no signup), you can distribute it to freebie sites.

then u bookmark one or two of them.

additionally, look for document sharing services on google - just not scribd (they don't allow links in books any more) - had some success with that also

additionally, join a few related yahoo groups. upload your book into the files section, and post a message to the group to announce it. - most members get the messages delivered as emails.

mention it on your social (and other) profiles

Hi guys

For me it works best by offering it for free in exchange for people joining my mailing list then explaining to them that they have free giveaway rights. I also find it worthwhile offering it regularly on social sites such as twitter/facebook/myspace in exchange for an opt-in.

Another great way of improving the traffic to it is to publish it on free ebook sites and this will get you in the search engines really quickly.

Like others have said, I would consider writing some articles and offering a free download in your resource box. Explain that people who download it can distribute it for free, and then--of course, have a blurb in your ebook for your site, blog, or other materials you have. You could also go directly after major bloggers in your niche and offer it to them for a bonus download.

Well I have one tip, but don't know if this helps. I receive a lot of emails/support tickets from people wanting to submit their product to my membership, it obviously means MASSIVE free viral traffic, considering there are 400 members, then a slew of other memberships feed directly from me.

So asking the admin of a membership may help spread the word.

I don't know if this suggestion helps.

You might want to check again as the links in the pdf report will still works if you upload it to scribd.

I have just tested it and it works.

To cast your free ebook pdf far and wide, you can submit to ebook directory sites like wisdomebooks. Instead of scribd you can submit to docstoc if they allow links inside ebooks. Upload to file sharing sites like storage.to and you wont have to worry about bandwidth usage on your site created by the downloads.
