Best way to sell websites?

What is the best way to sell a bunch of websites I no longer have time to maintain? Preferably a platform that's free to use or which only takes a commission on sale. Tried Freemarket already but it's too labour intensive as I need to put code on every site and I have about 70-80 websites for sale.

    Are they making money?

Do you have proof of earnings?

Do they have backlinks, traffic etc. or are they just domains?

    Godaddy auctions is one way.

    Best regards,

They're making some money, I could get screenshots of Adsense earnings. No backlinks etc. Selling the whole website in each case - domain + content.

      Yep, it's a must.

But It seems too many people want to throw a website together and try to squeeze as much money as they can out of people. And then b@tch and moan when people ask about this and want to get exct details.

I think Sellers should learn that thing called the Golden Rule : Do onto others ...well you know

Understood. My websites are actually pretty old, most of them been up since 2010/2011 and run as a bona fide hobby. Just don't have the time any more and want to pass them on, original plan wasn't to sell.

I have a domain I am not using anymore, never really did much with it apart from setup an affiliate site with it - i did some online valuations for it and think it is valued at way more than expected.

    It is somethingforchristmas.co.uk

Some sites value it around $499 which I think is just a load of lies - but can anyone advise the truth, and where I could quickly and easily sell it?

Also, how do I sell a domain? How does all the paper work work? What do I need to put in place to properly sell a domain I have?

    Thanks

Six steps to a successful site sale. Understand your website's long-term value in advance. Know your audience, and know how to sell them. Research successful website sales before listing your own. Take steps to optimize profits before making a listing. Use a popular outlet that attracts the right audience.

Flippa.com pretty much has that market covered. Just be ready to give them a few key pieces of information about your site/blog/domain to help potential buyers know what they will be getting. Be as thorough and transparent as you possibly can. This is always best.

    1) Sign up
    2) verify yourself
    3) write a description, should be short and simple
    4) Provide at least 3 - 5 traffic reports covering different aspects such as page views, Unique Visitors, Traffic Sources, GEO Map Overlay Details, etc.
    5) Provide Genuine Revenue figures if there are any
    6) Set the Reserve price
    7) And set a reasonable Buy it now price (BIN)

Just wait on bidders and answer any questions they may have thoroughly. You can do a little "due-diligence" on each bidder while you wait for the highest bidder.

You can, but you probably won't get the price you want. The exception could be a site that is unique and required a lot of development time. Another exception could be a site that receives a lot of traffic, but it was never monetized.

As most here have mentioned, Flippa will help you get the most views on your listing. But don't expect the best price as most of the buyers are seasoned investors.

You can also try forums like WF, DP, and NP.

Can those recommending Flippa confirm that the $9 listing fee is worth it? I have 70-80 sites to be sold, this will really add up... Or is the listing fee only paid if you successfully sell?

Hello, Flippa has multiple options to sell websites. $9 is the listing fee only for apps. For starter websites, listing fee is $19. If you want to sell the established website, with income proof then the listing fee is $19. Flippa will also take 15% success fee.

It doesn't matter your websites get sold or not but you have to pay the listing fee. If you don't have any previous experience of selling websites then you can contact with some broker too. Thanks :-)

You can do this two ways. List one at a time, or sell the entire lot under one auction.

I think because your sites are aged, they would qualify as "established sites." It's $29 for the auction, and $9 for the classified listings.

I think Flippa is a better place to sell both domains & websites, I've sold many websites on there, but only 1 domain sold on Sedo. GD Auction is also a good place if you have account at Godaddy, their price also cheap, about $4,99/year and you can list many domains for sell.
