Have a legit and well-developed fitness product. How can I bring affiliates in?

Hi all,

Recently launched a fitness product. A well-developed fitness platform (took one year to create).

Question is, how to find people who can sell it?

Plan to offer 70% commission (that's 30$ out of the 56$ selling price). And increase that to 42$ for someone who brings more sales.

We offer a free 7 day trial as well (no credit card required), and have a fine-tuned on-boarding process to convert trial users into paid customers.

Plan is to launch an affiliate offer on some of the main networks, with a 30 day cookie tracking, and every marketing channel will be accepted.

Thing is, how to bring people in, even after we launch the offer?
Additionally, how can we find big players for a joint venture?

Thank you a lot for your answers

Looks awesome, man! Being a fitness guy myself, I appreciate the work that went into this. Loads super fast, very professional, nice logo and seems like a legit program that will work and will sell.

The only thing that stood out to me that could be fine tuned was the writing. Seemed a tad less than professional. I know you didn't get a pro writer, right? That's cool, but sometimes it's good to get someone outside to take a stab at it since you might be too much on the inside, know wuddamean?

If I may be so bold, I would rewrite this:

The most sophisticated platform, combining video workouts, nutrition plans, healthy recipes, custom-made calendars, and daily guidance unique to your journey.

You just log in daily, and we will take care of everything else. With a step-by-step approach unique to your age, fitness level and goals. Completely personalized.

Fitness doesn’t necessarily have to be hard. The programs have progression in mind, making your journey much easier and much more efficient.

Watch the trailer and see how this platform can forever change the way you approach fitness.

    To this:

Fitness Updated is the most sophisticated health and fitness platform that combines video workouts, nutrition plans, healthy recipes, custom-made calendars, and daily guidance.

You simply log in daily and we take care of everything else. With a step-by-step approach that's unique to your age, fitness level, and goals, Fitness Updated is your completely personalized health and fitness partner.

Fitness doesn’t have to be hard. The programs are based on "progression" which makes your journey easier and much more efficient.

Watch the trailer and see how this platform can forever change the way you approach fitness.

I simplified and removed redundancies like saying "unique to your journey" with "unique to your age".Also made it flow better and fixed broken sentences. At the top you say "Fitness doesn’t have to be hard" but later you add "necessarily have to be hard." I think you should stick with the simple: "Fitness doesn’t have to be hard" like a slogan throughout the site. Even t-shirts with that slogan would be cool. Also removed commas where they weren't really needed.

I called it a "health and fitness platform" but if you don't like that you can change to "fitness program" or something else.

The word, "Just" is amateur so I suggested "simply". I see that you also use it later on that page.

Just trying to help. Hope I didn't step on toes!

Actually, I would end the line "Watch the trailer and see how this platform can forever change the way you approach fitness." with an exclamation mark.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write this! I appreciate it immensely!

Tips are well received, and I will change some of the original writing. Good points.

As for the work that went into it, you would't believe how much we had to learn. Partner wrote the entire code by himself! We did lot of the filming and editing as well... Btw, I'm the guy jumping around in the videos

Thanks again for your feedback. Feels reassuring to hear kind words for a completed project.

Will share everything that works from our journey here on WF.

Hey Big Frank, while I generally love your stuff, and appreciate the sentiment, the OP doesn't seem to be playing the promote my business game, and this thread is actually going somewhere useful.. maybe a nice PM would have been a better strategy?

@Slavko: You're not going to get big players to promote your stuff unless you a) pay them or b) prove to them that you have a high converting product.

While it's important it all looks great, and customers love it etc, none of that matters as much to JV partners compared with how well your website converts traffic into sales. And they'll want hard numbers to back it up.

Best bet is to grab some paid FB traffic to get some hard stats on how well your website converts. Once you've nailed that down you can go to JV partners and honestly say "Hey, here is my fitness site, it converts at x%, and you get y% commission.. are you in?"

      It's a much easier sale.

As for finding JV partners, there's a subforum devoted to all things JV / Partner and you can find plenty of people with big fitness lists there. No point doing anything there though until you have some conversion figures.

Best of luck with it, the site looks great.

Right away.. but how can I otherwise point people to see what the product is all about?

    Can I leave a non-clickable URL instead?

In reality, the question you asked didn't really require a link to your site.. and if you'd like feedback on the copywriting then you're better off jumping into the copywriting forum and you very rarely get pinged for leaving a url there as it's kinda needed!

Again, while I don't think your intent was to self-promote, technically Big Frank is in the right, although perhaps just a touch on brusque side.

Truthfully, probably not with those numbers, although if you paid CPL, that is paid for every homepage conversion to trial, then that's probably a more compelling deal.

I think your strategy of sending more traffic and A/B split testing is a good move. Also, start testing different offers at different price-points to see if you can't find a sweet spot at which your offer converts.

The better the numbers the better quality JV partners you're going to get, and some of these guys/girls can send you a lot of traffic, so doing the hard work of building up conversion rates on your own dime is a pretty good strategy.

I left the link mostly to avoid wasting time going back and forth between "do you have a video intro?" ~ "yes I have"... "and how about adding testimonials?"... ~ "yes we have them too"...

It's quite more productive like this.

I would have left a brand name, but we are not ranking first 5 positions yet..

Yep, you're right.. and is also something that gets abused.. it's a fine line sometimes! Don't sweat it too much, I think Big Frank just hasn't had his morning coffee yet.

Nope. The mods have asked us to pitch in and make the site better for everyone by encouraging everyone to play by the rules. If I can mention it before the mods do and they OP is smart enough to remove the link on their own, less chance of them getting banned - especially when they only have 2 posts. :-)

    Thanks @John appreciate this.

As for conversion numbers, we tested it with website traffic. So far homepage converts somewhat less than 30% (visitor to free trial) but that's probably because we don't ask for a credit card.

Then, trial-to-paid converts at 6.9% for an annual package.

But it's still early and numbers are still low so we will have to test some more.

Facebook traffic (and I have to note that we haven't tried much advertising yet) converts way less, but we are new to FB advertising so that's gotta be it.

Website traffic is mainly from fitness products reviews, and some general fitness advice articles.

Anyway, what do you think about the numbers above? Would affiliates jump on board?

We still have to change some things, A/B test the homepage, and maybe improve the mail sequence.

What would you say qualifies for an acceptable CPL commission/reward?

    Given:

    - homepage converts at 25%
    - free trial, no credit card required
    - just an e-mail signup, or one-click social media signup allowed as well
    - every marketing method allowed

That I'm not sure on.. best bet is to hit the JV section of the WF and ask directly.

You'll get more accurate numbers, and it'll be the beginning of building a relationship with some of the exact same people you're hoping to be working with!
