Default Getting Content

Hey everyone,

I've been in hiding in the weeds here for quite some time, now that I'm getting my feet wet - I am in serious need for some content for my website.

It is an article directory I am making with Wordpress. I would like to get as much free content as possible. I've looked at PLR articles and rewriters - but the finished result just doesn't pass for readability.

I tried a free system that is out there for content, but I can only set one category at a time - plus submissions are slow at best.

My next idea is to simply have my sig advertise the directory, kind of curious how that will work. Backlinks and targeted traffic then no?

I am too bootstrapped to afford paying for my content

I guess my question is what kinds of methods have worked for others?

Thanks for all the great posts on this site so far - it really convinced me to go head first into IM.

I know you don't want to here this but the best way to get content and learn is to write or rewrite free content you find on the internet for your subject. This helps you because you can build keyword rich content. Other than that try elance or guru.com .

I don't know your financial situation... but I could suggest you to go to Getafreelancer.com. You'll find providers willing to write decent articles for only $1 a piece. And I repeat: decent articles. Readable, well researched, no typos, correct English.

Hope this helps.

Have you tried Article Marketing Automation.

There's are a lot of categories to choose from but you still get rubbish in the articles. This is due to the people submitting the articles abusing the system by incorrectly (on purpose) categorizing their articles and not the system itself. The owners need to spend time viewing the submitted articles.

It will take some time for you to rewrite the content that you do find. Some people will allow you to post their content on your sites, as long as you keep to their TOS.

There are RSS feeds that you can use for content, as well.

I agree with whats been said so far. Also, depending on you finances you can hire people to write you stuff for you. It's cheaper than you think... You can get an MBA to write your articles starting at around $4 an hour. Check out Brick Work India. I read about it in the 4 Hour Work Week and after some initial hesitation I tried it out. It is awesome to have a ghost writer doing my dirty work...
