Does anyone have any experience with coupon sites?

Hey everyone...I've been thinking about starting a coupon site (deals, coupons, giveaways) for a while now but because of other projects, it's never happened.

However now I am in a position to take on a new project and I was just wondering what the main challenges are behind starting and running a coupon site.

Any feedback would be great.

I've not run one but I use them when I buy stuff online and try to find a coupon (usually for those oh so elusive GoDaddy renewal coupons!!!!).

You're probably going to need some sort of custom built site, otherwise updating all the pages with "red widgets coupons February 2017" will be a load of hassle.

I have some coupon sites like as you're asking. The main problems to maintain these type of sites are the traffic and the latest coupons you need to update daily or weekly. About traffic, you need to do SEO hardly to over-ranked some big guys in this niche and then it will takes you much time to update coupons for readers.

    Good luck to you,

I've done some coupons, giveaways, freebies, etc. It is a popular niche, but with popularity comes competition. In other words, it can be a very competitive niche.

I think one of the main challenges if you're running a full blow coupon site (deals, coupons, giveaways) is keeping up with it. Coupons, etc. expire at different times and new coupons, etc. continue to come out. So you need to keep up with removing the expired stuff and continuing to add new stuff. That can be a bit time consuming.

Coupon sites are always a good idea! Especially if you get more and more people availing it, and you offer a wide array of products people can avail coupons on.

Though this might be a good business, competition will be always present and tight, there might be coordination issues with your site and the product site, and there's a need for you to always update.

Nonetheless, it's a great business to venture on. Good luck!

Though creating a coupon site is a great way to go, you must prepare yourself to be within a pretty tight competition. But, as for me,I think it'd be much better if you focus on giving out local or national merchant coupons.

If it were me, I'd focus more on national than local coupons if you are updating things manually. National can potentially attract a larger audience.

I used to run a site that had coupons, deals, giveaways, etc.

    It was horrible!

I found out the hard way, these people don't buy much (if anything), they just want everything for free. Very low quality traffic.

Coupon websites like groupon.co.in, coupondunia.in, shopysave.in , cuponation provides coupon codes by directly having partnerships with major ecommerce sites like flipkart, amazon , jabong, snapdeal and other coupons via their affiliate marketing networks .

Major sites like flipkart , amazon , snapdeal , groupon provides their own affiliate and others provides coupons via affiliate networks like omg, vcommission, payoom, icubes, dgm, ibiboads etc . . .
