Hey Guys

I've not been around much lately with all the development stuff that's going on here.

I see there have been one or two changes

Anyway, I was wondering if any Warriors had got into text (ie SMS) marketing.

The reason I ask is that we've been working on a text marketing system targeted at offline businesses and I wondered if there was a demand online for it.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Cheers,

Neil

I think SMS is the next frontier to get the word out. Problem is that a lot of people still pay per SMS message and they might find it annoying.

True - and I think that's going to depend on what you're sending them.

Extreme (silly) example - send them the winning lottery numbers and they'll find it less than annoying!

I've done some reasearch that shows (in the UK at least) that people are happy to receive marketing texts (that they've subscribed to) if there is something concrete in it for them.

That said, one difference between the UK and other places is that all texts are free to receive - I know that's not the same everywhere.

    Cheers,

In India.. Receiving SMS is free. And sending is too, upto a certain extent (certain offers).
