How should a niche site work?

I have a few questions about how a niche site should be structured and what it should consist of:

1. Should every post end with an affiliate link, or should some posts be sales copy and others just plain information?

2. On posts that are purely informational with no links in the article, how would you structure the site to actually move the visitor to the sales copy? (because that is the end goal, right?)

3. If you're bringing in traffic from sites like Pinterest, does your site have to have an ongoing supply of new posts to keep that traffic coming in?

4. If you've done on page SEO and you've ranked for certain keywords, how can you split test different headlines etc without losing your ranking (you probably couldn't, could you?).

Thanks in advance.

This totally depends on how deep your content runs... If you are selling a particular thing, you may write up a sales type review, and in further content that is informational about that thing, you would link / refer to the sales article. IE "to find out more about thing 1 read my review here"

IF you are absolutely micro niched... I personally would write content about each and every benefit of the thing, with a directional link to a review, as well as a direct link to "Buy Now"

side bar calls to action work.. bottom of page CTA's work.. like above, I try to use those as well as in post links towards that goal.

I look at it this way, its not that you are "posting" to keep the traffic coming.. you are posting to broaden the target in which you are getting traffic. Using widgets as an example... you can write about widgets till you are blue in the face, but producing content about wood widgets ( broad targeting ) and oak widgets and maple widgets and pine widgets and then metal widgets, brass and copper and steel draws the focus.. the targeting of your audience tighter and tighter.

You can.. you must! work with the description tag.. think page title, URL and description.. you can rank without the description tag.. but the description tag gives you the ability to tweek the CTR of your SERP link. you can without question mess with this a good amount ( once twice a month easy ) to get overall best performance

Thanks for the reply. Regarding answer number 4, if you were changing your title and url all the time for split testing, you would lose your rank for whatever keyword you were ranking for wouldn't you?

But since the meta description has no effect on SEO, you can change that up as much as you like without losing your place. Am I right?

I would not put an affiliate link at the end of each post. In fact, I would use the site to get people on my list. I would have a sign-up form at the end of my posts.

Question 2: Again, I would structure the site to get people on my list and not to the sales page. Once on your list you can soft sell them with a good sequence of emails that will get them to the sales page.

Question 3: That goes without saying,

Question 4: There are plugins available for split testing as well there are tools in boogle webmaster tools for split testing.

You might be exciting in developing a market market website because:

Its relatively inexpensive to installation. There are compensated products and services that you can use to quicken things, but the only needed fee is for your sector and web hosting service consideration, which is usually between $4.95 and $6.95 per 30 days based on the variety you choose.
Its relatively easy to installation. Anyone with some time can installation a market market website. A lot of perform needs to be done, but its actually not that complex.
Its relatively much better to provide results. Nothing will generate income for you over night, but market websites are relatively faster as far as generating the visitors and income a especially in comparison to writing a blog which can take years to develop an viewers with.
It can be very inactive. You can get to a factor where you can set up your market website and have it run almost on automated while you gather income and start up a new website, if you wish. Like I said, it needs a lot of perform to get to this aspect, but if performed correctly, it can be a amazing type of residual income. Many people have designed market website powers, with 10, 20 or even 30 of these websites working for them instantly.
