Marketing resources for a new ebook author?

I've not been around for the past few months as I have been producing a number of Excel ebooks/guides. 4 are already available on Amazon.

So far I have only really pushed one of the books and it has done reasonably okay. The only downside is all my mailing lists etc are UK based, as a result all my sales and reviews have come from the UK. Without US reviews, I'm not likely to get sales in the US for sometime.

Does anyone have any resources (websites, blogs, YouTube channels) that they could share with me?

Why not use Camtasia and walk people through the most common excel problems via Video?

You can use Google Keyword Planner tool to find the most common problems (search via search volume)

Use the questions as your videos' title on Youtube

Do tons of these and get targeted traffic to your book

If you love what you do, this would be fun and a great way to build PASSIVE ASSETS that promote your book

I do have videos planned and they will follow the books in content.

My idea is to create a content production line. First I will create a guide on specific element of Excel and release it as a mini guide on Amazon. This mini guide will be included in a bigger book as a chapter. The mini guide would then form the basis of some free video guides on YouTube to help push people to the books. Finally the content would be reused again as a part of Udemy video tutorial.

The one thing I will avoid though is Camtasia type tutorials - where someone records doing something in Excel and just voices over it. There are millions upon million of those videos out there and just repeating that would mean I would not stand out. I'am experimenting with a more presenter based presentation with cuts to screen captures - I'm hope to inject personality in to it to make it stand out more.

I'm not saying there isn't, but is there a market for this? I would have guessed Excel would be very old news and covered 16 ways from Sunday.

I very much doubt I will make any real direct money from producing videos on YouTube, but it is where a lot of people start looking for Excel solutions. My aim with YouTube would be to help drive traffic to my main website or to my Amazon pages.

If you're looking to have your books reviewed in the US marketplace to drive more traffic there, then I recommend you try the companies listed in this thread: You Can Buy Book Reviews to Promote Your Ebook Online!

    Good luck!
