Hello to my fellow Warriors, for this semester in college, since it's my last semester before I get my "Business Administration" degree, I decided to take a "Co-Op" class to show that I have knowledge in actually working/managing a business.
However, unlike most of the student's, I'm into *internet marketing*, which is different than "working" (slaving, LOL) at a job with a manager over you. Since IM is (1) a lot different than working at a job and (2) completely *online* (unlike a physical job/business), what "learning objectives" would be *good* (and achievable) for me to write down? Here goes the form, so that y'all can read what I'm talking about: "Developing the Learning Objectives The establishment of learning objectives permits the student, instructor/coordinator and the supervisor to know precisely what performance of behavior is expected and to what degree it must be demonstrated by the student. Learning objectives should provide a clear direction in the type and level of work the student will perform on the job. With preset objectives, the student can accurately determine when the intended level of job performance has been reached. The student working with the instructor/coordinator and the supervisor should select major knowledge, skills and attitudes needed by the student to succeed in the specific job area. Meaningful objectives should focus on important aspects of the job and enable each student to achieve his optimum potential. Objectives should be attainable within the predetermined time period yet also challenging enough to encourage the student to stretch beyond his/her present level of performance. If this is not the first semester of enrollment in Cooperative Work Experience, then the student must ensure that NEW learning objectives are being created for each semester of enrollment. Writing the Learning Objectives Learning objectives are observable, precise, measurable statements of particular behaviors to be exhibited by the student on the job. Each objective has the following three parts: Beginning and Ending Dates - Beginning Date: 1-2 weeks after the start of the semester. Ending Date: 2 weeks prior to the end of the semester. Learning Objective - The objective should indicate what the student will actually do and how. Types of behaviors included in the objective are the following: * Compile recommendations for ways of reducing equipment failures by researching the problem and possible solutions. * Prepare a budget for review by management. * Create a safety checklist for commercial jobs. * Operate the microfilm camera properly after reading the manual and practicing. * Coordinate travel and business meeting arrangements for my department after completing training with Julie. * Estimate project cost and time requirements for a job after attending the estimation seminar. * Increase my sales by 5% over the next 6 weeks by using more suggestion selling techniques. Measurement Standard - The measurement part of the objective should read: "My supervisor will evaluate my success." Hit me back with your responses my fellow Warriors, so that I can write some good "learning objectives" down for my professor! |
